  1. Congrats! It's a surreal feeling! Good luck!
  2. Ah guys it's getting close, I am so ready!!
  3. Congrats! It's scary.. mine's in 5 days.. but also so thrilling and exciting. You've worked for this so keep it up! Stay blessed, I hope you have a safe surgery and quick recovery.
  4. I have two full time jobs, they're both desk jobs. I took off two weeks just to be safe but from my research one week would have probably sufficed. I had PTO though so may as well.
  5. Surgery buddies 3 of us so far on March 29th and we're all being sleeved! Good luck ladies!
  6. That is so awesome! I will have to go look at him on the show.. and you, too! He removed my gallbladder last June, he really is a great surgeon. I'm glad to see someone else on here that had the same procedure as I with the same surgeon. Small world!
  7. That is really impressive. I am the same, I really have a soda addiction for about 12 years now. I am also just ready to be done and be healthy before I develop something like diabetes. You should be very proud of your accomplishments, that is really great and something to be proud of! I hope it's easier than I anticipate as well!
  8. Man, I love Vegas. I go about every 6 months. I can't wait until I can go skinny and possibly zipline over Freemont! How amazing is that!?
  9. I honestly can see how the guy you're talking about feels. He doesn't want to date someone who isn't healthy because they may make it easier for him to slip back. It's not an ugly thing to say; if that's what helps him stay on track, I can understand that. I haven't had WLS yet but I don't judge others. I feel empathy for them. I know being big isn't easy.
  10. I have never cheated and neither has my spouse
  11. That definitely makes it easier when it takes like crap lol. That is really great that you haven't had soda in 2 months.. it's not an easy thing to give up!
  12. You used Google (or another search engine) to find surgeons in your area. So, I was looking into WLS when I found out I needed my gallbladder out. So I searched for a general surgeon who also did bariatric surgery. I read reviews, looked at his office and staff, the hospitals he had privileges at, etc. He took out my gallbladder and did great so we proceeded with VSG and then I found out my friend (new-ish friend) had her RNY with him and loved him, so that confirmed my decision.
  13. I got the gastric sleeve because I’m a heavier patient and this was a lower-risk choice.
  14. "I’m going for the gastric bypass and have set my surgery date (or am trying to get one set)." I am a VSG patient, actually.. but this was the closest option Surgery is set for 3/29!
  15. "Everyone who will listen! I want the whole world to know." That being said, I'm not wearing it on a tshirt or anything lol. I have chosen to be extremely open about it, though because I'm just a very open person. I don't feel guilty for taking control of my life back. I'm proud I'm taking the steps to be healthy and I sincerely don't care about other's opinions. If they don't like it then I don't care. It's not their life and that will just prove to me what kind of people they are, anyway. Not even worried about it I also didn't want to have to keep up with a bunch of different lies or stories. I can't wait, I am so ready for this!
  16. Aw, why is this thread so empty? We gotta get back in here! I am also a Christian, Lutheran specifically. I am confident in Christ that everything will go well!
  17. The Woodlands, TX. Being sleeved on 3/29/17 by Balette! I can't wait!
  18. I have Anthem BCBS PPO through Pepsi Co and I was literally accepted within a day. Through Pepsi, though, we're assigned a bariatric RN who helps with submission and such. We submitted on Friday and I was approved by Monday. BCBS is usually pretty quick with approval, from my understanding.
  19. Wow, you look so incredible! Way to go!!!
  20. You go girl! I am bummed about giving up McDonald's large Coke. I drink one at least every other day. Like you, I'm saying goodbye! We got this!
  21. Which area? I'm in The Woodlands
  22. I told everyone. I'm proud to take my life back. I sincerely don't care what others think and I didn't want to keep up with any lies.
