    Losing slowly

I'm 7 weeks post op now and I've only lost 26lbs since my highest weight. I know that it's always good when the scale is moving in the right direction but I'm having a hard time not feeling discouraged. I've been exercising regularly, making sure I get my protein and keeping my meals low cal and low carb. I did have a little bit lower of a BMI before surgery which was 40.0 exactly, now I'm down to 36 but still have around 80 lbs to lose until my goal weight. Is there anyone that has a similar situation as me or any encouraging words? I would be so appreciative!

    Weight loss

I am wondering if there are any ways to speed up my weight loss? I had the Sleeve done on 2/7/17 and am 31lbs down and don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for Loss so far but I'm feeling like I should have lost more by now. I've been doing a workout in the mornings, getting my protein, and my caloric intake is around 800 calories per day. Should I be eating more/less calories or upping my exercise? Any techniques that anyone knows of to help speed it up? I would appreciate any advise! Thank you!

That's a good idea to schedule your treats! Thank you!
  11. I really over indulged today and feel so horrible about it! I ate a snickers ice cream bar and Choco taco today [emoji17] I'm so upset with myself and was hoping to see if anyone else has done anything like this? Please kind words only, I already feel terrible about this!

    New Clothes

I am 8.5 weeks post op and have lost 31lbs so far. I went shopping for the first time yesterday for some clothes and I tried a size down because my clothes from home seem bigger but everything I tried on was too small. So I went back to trying on the size that I'm used to and everything fit, so I'm feeling a little discouraged and wondering why I'm seeing the difference in the mirror and on the scale but not in my clothes? Has anyone else experienced this?

  17. I'm 22, and I'm 7 weeks post op and If anything I think it's made it easier since I'm on the younger side. Recovery seemed to go well which I was thankful for. My surgeon also said it's a good idea to do it now so you spend more of your overall life as a healthier you. I understand you being nervous cuz its the fear of the unknown but it's the best decision I've made so far and you'll be proud of yourself once the surgery is done and you get to look forward to happier and healthier you! Good luck! [emoji4]
  18. I am curious if anyone has any particular ways that they jump start weight loss during a stall to get the scale moving again? Thank you in advance!

    Frustrating stalls!

Ya I agree it's really hard to get all the protein in only 3 meals, my doctor says the same thing! It is for sure trial and error!

    Frustrating stalls!

We're at about the same post op from surgery, I'm at 7 weeks post op today. I will try to get my protein in other ways and see how I do! I've been working out in the morning doing Pilates type exercise and wondering if maybe I'm building muscle and that could be a reason for no weight loss? I also track my food with the bariatastic app so hopefully that will continue to work as well! Thank you for your response!!

    Post Op Depression

I know exactly how you feel! I suffer from depression and the liquid diet really wore on me. In the 2nd week when we can incorporate protein shakes I got the chocolate muscle milk to help with needing something sweet that filled me up and kept me full but with no sugar or carbs. I also strained many different types of soups to mix it up, but only the creamy kind, not too thick. I know it's hard but before you know it you'll be onto week 3 and able to incorporate a little more! Hang in there!
