I have diabetes and I was banded 8/5/08. I too wondered if I would have lows. I haven't and it really surprises me. I use to have them quite often prior to my surgery. For like a week after my surgery I refused to take my metformin. My levels were great so I didnt think that I needed it. When I was able to go on mushies and reg food, I started up with my metformin again but at half the does. It seems to be fine now, my numbers are pretty good. Once loose a little more weight I believe that I will be off the meds all together.

Hi Guys, I was banded on 8/5/08 and it ended up being open surgery rather than laposcopy. I was wondering if anyone knows how long the recovery might be and when you think that I might be able to return to work. It's already been over two weeks and I am still very sore. I haven't been able to do much, even sitting here at my computer is painful. Also, does anyone know what I can put on my scar so that it will heal. I'm still bleeding a little from it. Thanks for any and all advise.

That's not very nice, if you're going to post here and be a part of this group, the you should be a part of this group and go with the name that we all collectively vote on. Don't separate yourself by having a different name from the rest of us. Join us and have the same name as us. By the way, when you say 5 little monkeys, do you mean children or are they real monkeys? I only ask because when I was a kid my Dad had a real monkey......it was cool!

I sure did too!! But I'm over it now..............I say that now! But I bet ya the day before my liquid diet starts I will be at Black Angus ordering 3 orders of their garlic cheese bread and eating them all myself!!!!!!!!!!!! That darn bread is my weakness..........and post band I'm hoping that I can at least have a small bite or two............if not, I'm going to figure out a way to blender it...either that or just lick it!
