  1. I defo drank it faster than that. I will do it even slower then. And thanks for the words of encouragment. You've been a gem. Really. If it wasn't for your help, I don't think I'd find my way out of this forest. Tell your husband to buy you some flowers for me. wyldvelia, I pretty much felt the same way. eally didn't start coming out of the fog or the pain for 5-7 days. I hope you don't have my issues and get back on your feet like some of these other fine folks seem to do.
  2. Hey Kath, I'm now on prescription Protonix and it's really helping a lot already. I'm still on full liquids, like you said, I'm not ready for anything more. I was sitting in the recliner with the aloe, but I do drink up until bedtime. Now here is the strange thing. I just had about 1/2-3/4 a cup of egg drop Soup (oh my god...heaven) just now and about 10 minutes after finishing it, I could feel the pain in the band area, the esophagus and then moving up my throat a little bit. This happens with Water too, or any liquids really. So what is this telling me? I can't eat 1/2 c of soup or water? Is this dilation of my esophagus? I also get a sort of hiccup feeling too. How am I to keep up calories and hydration if I can't take very much in?
  3. It must be great to fininally have someone listening to you. Doctors just don't seem to get that although they have all the knowledge, we know our bodies best of all. We have been in our own skin long enough to *know* when something is up. Let's hope it's not a leak. Would you get re-banded if it was?
  4. ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES I DID!!!! ahahahahaa! Now let's hope this Protonix takes seed and solves my problems so I can keep my band. *pray pray pray pray*
  5. Thank you Karen. I hate to be such a baby, but I am having some problems. Whatever happens the support from you and others has been such a comfort. Having a little pain in my band area now. Just heard it gurgle loudly. I wonder if that was the pill passing?
  6. I just got off the phone with the nurse. They want me to try stronger antacids before doing an endoscopy and all that sort of thing to see why I am having these problems. She asked me "Didn't they tell you your GERD could become worse after banding?" and I said "No, they told me it would get better." I thought the acid reflux woukld get better with weight loss.:think I have a history of GERD and Barretts esophagus is not something I want to get from this Lap Band

  8. So far so good...lol I just got off the phone with the nurse. They want me to try stronger antacids before doing an endoscopy and all that sort of thing to see why I am having these problems.
  9. Okay Houston..I just swallowed it.LOL I hope it goes down well 1... 2... 3...
  10. Okay all, I have to down a small Protonix pill right now. I can't break it up, it needs to be time released. As you may have read, I'm very swollen still, so I'm terrified of swallowing this down.:omg:
  11. Thanks Kathy. Last night before bed I was drinking warm Water and my thraot was hurting. Laying in bed I had the weirdest feeling high in my throat and at the back of my throat, like it was open and throbbing or something. Just didn't feel normal. ANd when I pressed on my pipe through my neck with my fingers, it hurt.
  12. Tomorrow is day 15 for me and I graduate to soft foods. DO you two ladies have suggestions on what to have besides the egg drop Soup? By the way, I upped my antacid to twice a day, and only drank warm things today and I have noticed a difference. Not a heck of a lot , but better than yesterday. Thank you god, let's hope it keeps up.
  13. I was having these "attacks" over the past 15 years that was in the center of my abdomen, under the breastbone. They were so horrible that they would bring me to my knees.Literally. And a tight band of itwent round my back and into my shoulder. I went to the emergency room once and they could not find stones. Then last year, my pancreas was becoming compromised from a bad gallbladder. I had pancreatitis and was in the hospital, no food or Water by mouth for 3 days. Then they took my gallbladder out and the surgeon said he could have paved a driveway with it. It was scarred, distended and had 150 stones. I was lucky that my pancreas was not damaged by the years of a diseased gallbladder. If you ever read about chronic pancreatitis, it's frightening, and leaving a bum gallbladder in can cause it. So be persistant. Also, fatty foods and caffiene will aggravate it.
  14. Nursecarlotta, thank you so much! You people have no idea how encouraging your posts are to me. I've been pretty depressed and miserable with this, so to know there is hope and pain free band life possibley waiting round the corner, really helps. It's also just nice to know I'm not alone in this. I implement all your suggestions too, so thanks for that as well. You people are great.
  15. Have him read my threads, or my better yet my journal. This is not the easy way out. In fact there are several things in my 40 years i could say took the most courage and hard work both physically and mentally and this is one of those few things.
  16. Ocean front property in Iraq...lol Oh my god, I didn't click on that link until now!! She's not even fat! Socal phobia? Not knowing the Internet and resources? please. Maybe there will be a new post that goes something like those emails I get... ATTN:RESPECTFUL ONE, Compliment of the Season, Beloved in Christ Permit me to inform you of my desire of going into business relationship with you. I know this mail may come to you as a surprise, since we have not known or written before. Introducing myself , I am Foofey-foof. My father was a gold and cocoa merchant based in Ivory Coast, if you would wire transfer me $250,000 for Lap Band surgery etc etc etc bla bla bla.
  17. Rofl Well, reading it helped me. If nothing else we two can stand together like a monument for New Banders Not Having it Easy. Kind of like a Mount Rushmore thing.
  18. Just so you know kathy, I went out and got the aloe vera. aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... stuff works, you can feel it. Nature is so wonderful.
  19. Thank you! That makes so much sense. I appreciate all your help. *hugs*
  20. Is it the same woman? Dutch, I thought the thread was deleted. After some careful questioning I think we realized the quality of the poster. For someone who has no money, that ebay person sure likes to buy stuff.
  21. Well, I called the on-call doctor. She said there is no medication for the spasms in my throat. She called in a stronger acid reducer. But she sai some people just can't tolerate the band and it has to come out.
  22. You did Alexra? I'm glad I'm not alone . I really started to feel I was a freak and something was seriously wrong with my banding or me. I want to go to the meeting this wends. The pain is so distracting, but I'm going to try.
  23. Thanks desertmom. You were in this kind of pain too?? I can start on soft foods tomorrow, and yes, I find when my stomach is empty it is worse, and it's also worse in the evenings. A heating pad put on my sternum, between my breasts seems to help a little too. I defo hope the doc can give me meds and this can go away. I'd also like them to check out to make sure the band is not too tight.
  24. Hi Kathy, I checked your posts and they only went to January. I figured out what this is, it's esophageal spasms. I could feel my entire "pipe" throbbing and squeezing tonight. It's so painful though, and getting worse every day. Will I have to have my band out I wonder???
