    Stupid question

You will notice you can tolerate more food the further out you get. Right now your stomach is still healing and as the swelling goes down there will be more room for food. You will also notice some food goes down a lot easier than others and you can eat more of it. Follow your doctors portion control and you will be fine.

    snacks

Hi all! I am 10 months out. I am curious what you all eat for snacks. Fruit veggies? I have noticed that my snacks protein bars and nuts are higher in calories. Most of my calories are in snacks. I wanted to try something different yet still filling. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Gain or try hernia route?

Gain 10 pounds and call it a day. I had to gain 15 to reach 40 BMI. Seems silly to gain 15 for weight loss surgery but I lost 100 in 6 months so well worth it

I hope this is the string I reply on. My current weight is 161.4 my goal weight is 150. How long is this challenge?
  16. I am so jealous!! I wish I received that information. I can schedule an appointment with the nutritionists I guess but I would love to have a forever diet plan. So you eat a cup and a half of food a day? This makes me think I am eating way too much!! Is that information on line somewhere under your doctors office or something? I would love to get a copy of that
  17. Sounds like you have been very successful!! I didn't get a diet plan for anything past 3 months. You are eating a cup and a half of dense protein and then fruit or veggies correct?
  18. HI all!  I am 8 months out and I am curious if there is a great book out there for people who are further out than a few weeks.  It is easy to find information for your first few months out but nothing after that.  Any websites or books y'all can recommend?  Thanks!

I see why people gain their weight back then

Yeah basically. All the focus is on the weight loss phase and nothing on maintenance. Luckily with the sleeve you are pretty normal postoperative. My healthy community is is keto and yoga. Nothing to do with WLS, but helpful communities. So I suggest people adopt a healthy lifestyle and find something outside of WLS communities for long term. There are just not enough long term successful WLS patients to interact with

    Feeling sooooooooo good

Great job!!!! I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but it was a long time before I wanted sweets and bread and fried foods again, those cravings will return and you will be fighting them again. Best way to fight them off is to never give in. Once you give in fighting them off is harder. I just wanted to prepare you. You look awesome!!! Great job!!!

    Juicing

I would say so. You get soo many nutrients you would never be able to eat. If you put some protein powder in it you could get your protein too. Much better than a premade protein drink

    Long-term stories wanted

I have a friend who is 5 years out and still at goal weight which is on the lower end of her healthy weight. I am only 8 months out myself so I would like to hear more from old timers who have been successful also

    Am I losing too quickly?

My weight wasn't as high as yours I started at 270, but I lost 100 in the first 6 months and then it tapered off. You may not need to worry about loose skin.
