From what i was told the obesity unspecified isnt a coverd diagnosis but rather i think it was severe morbid obesity due to excessive calorie intake GBP March 8 2017

I also have bcbs tx my surgery is wednesday and was approved however like you my bloodwork too for almost 1300$ was denied... come to find out the diagnosis code they used is why is denied they billed unspecified ibesity insurance said they needed to be more specific called md office and they have fixed it but is still in process w insurance to reprocess GBP March 8 2017

I have similar stats to you 5'7 267 starting weight i choose the gastric bypass for a few reasons 3 people in my family have had it and are long term and doing GREAT ! I also worked at a bariatric surgeons office and saw most success from gbp pts ( the sleeve was commen then though ) and also i like the fact the gbp has more restrictions i feel it will make me more accountable...with that being said everyone is differnt and has their reasons best of luck to you and your decision it will be the right one GBP March 8 2017

Thank you I got thru to MD office today referral coordinator called inaurance to ease my mind...she said yes im fact it is an approval letter but they also wanted a pre-certification for the inpt hospital stay she started it today and said she isnt worried about it at all Didnt know they needed two approvals GBP March 8 2017

Hello I was told on feb 3rd i was approved for gbp and surgery is scheeuled for march 8th But i just got a letter in the mail and it is worring me is this the approval lettet or are they saying they arent paying Why im worried is this letter was enclosed then an appeal page I cant seem to post a picture of the letter But it reads Important update enclosed Dear provider Based on the documentation submitter 43645 for laparoscopy gastric bypass is coverer under the members plan However' predetermination of benefits does not guarantee payment. Benefits are always subject to other applicable requirements such as preexisting conditions limitations and exclusions payment of premium and eligibility at the time of care and services that are provided and participating and or network provider status also note some services require pre-certification I would call ins and office but both are closed thoughts anyone elses letter look like this GBP March 8 2017

I heard from my nutrionist the regular muscle milk had too many carbs to stay under 5...however she did say they have a light muscle milk that is okay I havent seen the light in stores in my area... I start my pre op diet on wednesday I decided on premier protein pre mixed I have strawberrychocolate amd banana!! Best of luck GBP March 8 2017

What did you choose and why did you choose it ? Any regrets with your choice ( do you wish you would have tried the other surgery) I went back and forth and decided the GBP ( surgery will be on the 8th march ) Looks like most post are people choosing the sleeve
