I know a few people who have had the RNY and only one has complications and the others don't. The difference I have noticed between them is the one who has complications doesn't follow dr orders. No vitamin, drinking alcohol etc.. if I were you I would go get a second opinion. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My day is near and now I am so excited. Been a long long journey for me as I ended up with a DVT in my right arm which pushed my surgery 6 months out . Question does or did any one have to do a bowel prep day before surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I will have my surgery on the 13th of February but, I have found a protein mix called genepro. 1 tablespoon is 30grams and I mix it with my coffe. My sister had her surgery in October and she started using this as well and mixes it with an ounce of Gatorade and takes like a shot .. hope this helps you.. i haven't had my surgery yet I am on the pre opp diet and I found a protein mix called GENE PRO 1 tablespoon equals to 30 grams of protein, tasteless and dissolve fast and doesn't thicken your drink. Did you let your surgeon know? I have a family history of blood clots (maternal grandma had 2 pulmonary embolisms and my dad had a DVT) and my surgeon plans to have me on blood thinners for longer after surgery to prevent one.
