What a treat, thanks for sharing!

I was warned about stockpiling too much of the same as tastes change. Just saying

I've been trying to work on the 1/2 before, 1 hour after drink arrangements. It's slow going but I realized how much "washing down" was actually going on; never thought about this before. I'm a size 18. I ordered a $5 skirt in size 6 and will hang this somewhere I can see it so I can keep my eye on the prize. I've been stashing chapsticks everywhere so I don't forget one day of surgery (though I'm doing outpatient and will hopefully be home by the evening) I've been bugging my husband to take before pictures and help me take measurements... one of these days! When I first started this journey I read everything I could get my hands on... then I settled down a bit. Recently I picked up the thread again and started reading and revisiting various sites but especially those pertaining to my surgeon (reviews) and day-of accounts. I had a period of doubt but now the whole thing seems like a good choice again [emoji4] Oh yeah; and I've been living out scenarios in my head on how I will react when people can't believe what they're seeing ( a lot of Rita Hayworth-like hair flipping going on in my mind!)

How long does it take? It feels like you must be spending a good chunk of your day walking?

Related question to the vets, if I may; has the surgery done anything for your libido? I've read that it increases the sex drive for men... what about women? I'm pre-op

Not sure about this but most will require you to be on their plan for such and such a time before they'll approve so it more or less comes to the same timeframe. I had looked into that at first too and in the end found it not only easier and less costly to wait for the 6 months but also beneficial in terms of coming to grips with the reality of it. The process of internalizing it takes some time. I still think 6 months is too long but it is what it is.

If it doesn't feel normal to you say something; speak up; call your surgeon's office. I hope you can look back on this day with a smile on your face soon. Feel better!

You know the timing already??

God knows I'm trying to get into the groove of it but it's more like a win-a-day/lose-a-day with me. I don't have to do the pre-op diet either (except for day before and then only after a good breakfast) so having difficulty with the whole getting in the right mood thing!

And considering i went monthly (insurance required 6 consecutive months of weight history logged so i had 7 visits total (including initial sit down with surgeon).

Started in Feb... didn't qualify due to low bmi so really day one was in March. Was ok'd for september but didn't find a date that worked hence october.

Thank you both as well. Again, the doctor was actually very good on my initial consultation. Took his time, was calm and collected. Answered all my questions... it's his staff I have a problem with and I'm just not sure how much of an extension his staff is when it comes to his reliability and skill. I shall think on this a bit more. Thanks for the support.

Thank you both. Calmer heads prevail thanks to you both; you are of course right! I also noticed that my frustration hasn't disappeared with the drafting of the message and vending on this board which tells me the actual problem lies with me being nervous because clearly the office was like this from the get go, this isn't something recent. So what has changed? My date has been confirmed and is looming closer so maybe it's just me being nervous. Also, Ldyvenus... my psych and nut are completely unrelated to my surgeon's office but thanks for pointing that out. It hadn't occured to me how important that would be! Cheers to you both!

Dear all.. I'd like your help with something and please try to keep your responses to constructive criticism. I have been having problems with the way my surgeon's office is dealing with responding to questions. They seem to be practicing something called "selective responding" meaning sometimes I get a response to a relatively irrelevant question immediately and fully but oftentimes I will have to ask again even if it's something important. Sometimes I will get the whole answer but oftentimes I will get only a partial answer and I will have to ask again or even find another person at that office who is more responsive. While I know this isn't necessarily an indication of the skill of the surgeon it still has me tremendously annoyed and worried about how I will get answers to my questions post-op and on some level I do see the staff of a specialist as an extension of their business practice. So here I am, insurance approved, all requirements out of the way and just waiting for my October 10 surgery date and increasingly annoyed at this. I plan on drafting an email to his staff and would like your thoughts on how exactly to voice my frustration. Please let me know your thoughts.
