  1. I am scheduled for 2/1 to convert a 13 year old band to bypass in NYC
  2. I am doing band to bypass on 2/1 and in same boat. Did band 13 years ago and was successful but has to come out due to complications
  3. So how are all the NYers doing? We never managed to get mich traction here.
  4. Wow you all live in much cheeper places than me, I was told that an LBL (lower body lift) which might be more involved than a tummy tuck and removing excess skin from the chest area (I am male by the way) would be ~$25-30K in Manhattan all in (hospital, surgeon fee, etc). LBL surgeon fee alone was quoted at $15K
  5. Can I ask what people have found the cost of a procedure like this to be? I had my first consult this week and am in the research process. Was told by the surgeon that he would recomend an LBL... also said I could pick up another 5 - 8lb in skin weight by doing it.
  6. Hi all, it has been a long time since I posted here but was wondering if anyone had begun to consider plastic surgery yet? I had a consult this week and was told by the surgeon that 18 months out is reasonable. Thoughts?
  7. I had a first consult this week and would like to hear other peoples views. Any thoughts on what this stuff should cost?
  8. 33 year old guy in Manhattan here, anyone in NYC? Been banded for 11 months and down 85lb. James
  9. Though it might be fun to get a group together to swap stories.
  10. Hi all, I saw the thread and was also banded back in April. I though I would ask if anyone else has had a prolonged period of no weight lose? I feel like I have not lost anything for roughly a month though am down well overall?
  11. I have not gained weight, infact when I saw the doctor a week ago for the fill I was 234 when I saw him Wed to unfill I was 228 this morning I was 226.
  12. Thanks for the posts, I had an unfill and that solved the problem.
  13. anyone have this problem? I was banded in april and have had several fills the last one was last thursday. Friday Sat and Sunday everything seemed fine, but starting yesterday and into today cannot keep anything down? Even milk or hot tea. I did do a heavy abdominal workout on Sunday, can that increase presure? Is it posible there is inflamation that will go down? Should I give it a few days or have some fill removed? My stomach around the port is sore but I cannot tell if that is from working out or something else.
  14. Hi all, was banded on April 7th, was wondering what people were seeing as an average per week weight loss now that we have all been at this for a while. Thanks, James
  15. I got my forth fill yesterday and there is a huge difference. Last night I could not even eat cottage cheese which has been good for me in the past. I am trying to drink a protein shake this morning and I need to drink it very slowly. (have a sip and put it down wait 30 sec and have another) Any thoughts? Is this to much restriction? I know the band usually settles down in a few days. Every time I have a sip of something I get that minor heart burn feeling.
  16. From a guys prospective my sex drive has gone through the roof compared to pre band and its only been 10 weeks and 40lb. At this point I am thinking about my wife three times a day rather than three times a week. (not to mention an added bonus that everything lasts much longer and looks much bigger)
  17. I was banded 4/7 and flown several times since for work. Flying does make an impact after the band is filled. I never feel it, but when I try and eat the day after I fly the band is tighter. Infact the only times I have gotten sick are when I have flown. Maybe everyone is different but I would suggest taking it easy after flying. Especialy if you are flying for work and have to entertain clients.
  18. davisd, I was banded the same day and got a fill yesterday. I feell the difference already but I think he gave me a 3cc fill.
  19. I was banded 4/7 and have the same thing. I think I can controle the quality of what I am eating but I am getting more and more hungry. For lunch I had turkey Chili but I had an 12oz serving with a slice of bread. A few weeks ago I could only eat 4oz... its still not that bad for you and packed with protein but still seams like allot. How much is everyone eating?
  20. I was banded on 4/7 and all is well. I have some business trips coming up at conferences all of which have been notoriously bad with food options. Any ideas? I can’t bring shakes and things on the plane (the flights are 6-7 hours) because they no longer allow liquids. (over 3oz anyway) Anyone delt with this or have ideas? There will likely only be fast food choices at the conference… not sure how to stay on track.
  21. Can you add me, I was banded on 4/7
  22. Anyone hitting the gym yet? I am meeting with my trainer tomorrow and feel fine... no really 100%... but my wife and friends all seam scared that I am going to do something bad to the band if I start playing tennis and golf and working out this soon (banded 4/7). Anyone else working out vigorously yet? I have never been one to take it easy as I have a hyper personality and I need a vent from working 15 hours a day in a job where I want to kill my boss... ok to much info... last worked out 4/6... going crazy... what is everyone else doing?
