  4. My evaluation they started asking about my medical history and family medical history. Then asked when my battle with obesity began. What I thought might have caused it. They asked about my support system. And asked some simple questions about the surgery to make sure I was prepared mentally for what was to come. Good luck you can do it! 7. You are not alone!! I know exactly how you feel. I'm only 6 days post op. My healing process and liquid diet are going well but I have 2 kids that I have to cook for. So I'm still around food that I can't have. This morning fixing eggs n sausage my mouth was watering because I just wanted one bite. But I have been really strong and I can resist the temptation because I know I have to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. @@Misty Barnhart I've been having that same problem with feeling like I have to burp but nothing comes out. Then I have a pain in my chest that makes me afraid to take another drink. I guess I'm taking in too much air as I'm swallowing so I have been trying to alter how I drink/swallow but still having difficulties. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. Congratulations!!! That's a huge milestone! Keep up the good work. I told myself when I hit that mark I'm going to have a pampering day get my hair done or go get a massage or something nonfood related. Maybe just buy yourself a new outfit. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. So sorry you have to go through this without your friend. That's what best friends are supposed to be here for tho. You are supposed to support each other. I went through a similar situation but it was my husband not my best friend. We argued over and over and finally I decided I'm doing this surgery for me not for anyone else. That's when I found this support group and it has helped me a lot. Now that I've had my surgery my husband has come around to being more supportive. I wish you best of luck the rest of the way! 13. Most definitely!! The gas x strips and just walking around helped with the gas pains. I havnt had too much trouble today. I'm having a hard time right now drinking slow sips over a long period. The dr said it should take me 3-4 hours to drink my 8oz Protein shake. Now that I did that my stomach feels full but my mouth is dry. So I want Water but I'm afraid to drink more water cuz I already feel full. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I was sleeved that day too. How are you feeling? I've had some pain around the incision on the right side but the gas pains have been worse. I highly recommend the gas x strips because it dissolves in your mouth and you don't have to swallow a pill. Looking forward to seeing your progress! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. I got my sleeve done yesterday. I don't remember a whole lot. I remember getting to the hospital so excited I couldn't stop smiling. I went to pre-op they started 2 ivs and checked my vitals and went over my medications. Then they let my family come sit with me until it was time to go down. Once I got down to the holding area they have me several different meds to help acid in the stomach and nausea. The dr came to talk to me and that's when I started almost having an anxiety attack. I became nervous scared. I was really hoping they were gonna take me soon because I was afraid to have a break down. I just took a few deep breaths and shortly after that we were off to surgery. I fell right asleep once we were in there. After surgery I wasn't in pain just kinda felt uncomfortable. They had me up about 4 hours after my surgery to walk. I walked 3 times total yesterday and got some ice chips. Today I went down to have the swallow test. Donnie I'm waiting to see the dietitian so I can start with the phase 1 diet. Looking forward to the rest of this journey. Thank you all for the support along the way!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. I'm really struggling with the pre-op liquid diet so I'm turning to this page to keep my mind off of wanting to stuff my face. Thank God my doctor only requires me to be on the liquid diet for a week. I'm on day 5 and I feel like I could die. I'm doing 2 shakes per day, chicken broth and Jello for lunch and supper. Drinking Water and crystal light in between. I'm ready to get this over with!!!!! Surgery scheduled for Tuesday 1/31. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  24. My surgery is scheduled one week from tomorrow! I have to start that dreaded liquid diet in the morning. I know it's not going to be easy but the end result is what I'm looking for. Does anyone have any good pointers on things to have on the liquid diet. I have bought some Jello, chicken broth, and crystal light. I have also found a Protein powder I don't mind either. So excited and scared at the same time!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
