  1. I waited 3 weeks to drive, but I had my husband to run and get things for me and my mom drove me to my appointment.
  2. Congrats! Just pump and dump while on pain meds and make sure you are taking enough fluids and like clk said watch your nutrition.
  3. I'm 4 weeks and bought the outlast mango fruit bars the other day. They felt good going down and they're low calorie.
  4. How is everyone feeling. I'm n doing pretty good. Not able to tolerate meat yet. However this morning I had an egg and 2 slices of bacon chewed well and no pain.
  5. I chose the sleeve bc it was less invasive than bypass and my surgeon doesn't do the band dt too many complications with them. My surgery was on 5/31. I can finally say I'm feeling pretty good. I didn't have surgical pain, but I had gas pain for a week. I feel pretty good now though. I am kinda getting used to taking a few bites and being full, what I do is chew well and inn both sides of my mouth so that I can savor the few bites I can have. Because I usually want more but can't. I am currently on soft foods. When I go for my 6 wk appt they said they want to try to transition me off of protein shakes but I'm not sure if I'll be ready. I am not able to comfortably eat chicken or meats and I don't eat fish or sea food. I feel like I'm transitioning a little slower than they expected me to but I don't care because I know how my body feels and I'm taking my vitamins and trying to get the protein and fluids in. I'm happy I had the surgery. I feel better each week that goes by now. I'm looking forward to going back to work in a few weeks but do worry about drinking enough while I'm there. I already hinted to my manager that I was planning on carrying a small water bottle in my pocket to sip on while there. Anyway, I get sidetracked easily. I'm off my arthritis medicine. My ortho doc gave me a nerve block in my knee the day before surgery so if be able to walk post op pain free and it was amazing and I'm getting a series of gel injections to that knee here in another week on to of the weight I've lost I'm gonna feel like a new woman. 6. I hate when my husband wants to go out to eat. I'm only 4 weeks out and he'll be like let's go to this Chinese buffet. So then I order a water that I know I won't touch bc well leave before I can even start drinking it. I take 3 bites and I'm full just sitting across from him watching him eat a couple plates and apologize to me. It's not that I want to be eating more its just that it feels awkward. Have you ever gotten the small side at Panda Express LMAO. So he's got this loaded plate and I'm going home with this itty bitty box that fits in my palm that I couldn't finish eating. 7. while I was waiting for pre cert. I just made myself not think about it so that the time went faster. HW: 280 SW: 231 CW: 203 GW: 140 Sleeved 5/31/17
  8. I'm your height as well. I chose a number that I felt I would be comfortable at. In high school I was 120. I had a very poor diet then. I also am in my 40's and have had 5 kids. I fell like 140# would be good for me. I may change it when I get closer. I think you need to consider your activity level as well. If you are doing alot of weights and building muscle you'll probably be a little higher weight even with a smaller size. HW: 280 SW: 231 CW: 203 GW: 140 Sleeved 5/31/17
  9. I'd say you should be fine. I read an article the other day and it was saying when a sleeve pt over eats at say a holiday event they would be consuming maybe 1500 calories vs prior to the surgery where it would several thousand calories. Just so they go back on track afterward and don't make it a habit. HW: 280 SW: 231 CW: 203 GW: 140 Sleeved 5/31/17
  10. mine said no gummies. I can tell you they don't make a gummy that contains iron bc I was always looking for one for my daughter who needed iron. But I was told that I had to take chewable for the first 3 months for proper absorption. HW: 280 SW: 231 CW: 203 GW: 140 Sleeved 5/31/17
  11. Your doing great. Keep up the good work. HW: 280 SW: 231 CW: 203 GW: 140 Sleeved 5/31/17
  12. I just had the horrible gas pains. But when I first woke up I was on a pain pump but my heart rate would go down to 40 on the pain meds so the oxygen sensor would beep and it would scare me bc I was at the other end of the hall from the desk and the nurses didn't always come when it alarmed. So post op and paranoid and not wanting to die I refused to use it. The next day they put me on oral meds and that was fine with me. I do have a low hr when I take meds like that. A few years ago was in the hospital with a PE my grandma died in wks prior my grandpa died the day before and I had to be admitted and miss his funeral the next day and I was a hot mess of anxiety they gave me ativan and my hr was like 32 asleep they had a cardiologist see me. I'm just now sensitive that some people to narcotics. But you'll do great, sip- walk - rest. HW: 280 SW: 231 CW: 203 GW: 140 Sleeved 5/31/17
  13. It happens. Just focus on getting back on track and getting the weight back off. You've already done it just stick to it. HW: 280 SW: 231 CW: 203 GW: 140 Sleeved 5/31/17

  16. sleeved on May 31. I lost the first 2 weeks then stayed there. I've read this is common around this time. I'm not going to fret just yet. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. that's hilarious because I get the same thing like a hiccup that tells me that's enough. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. I am 4 weeks today. I initially had horrible constipation probably r/t the pain med. Since then I have had watery diarrhea about every 2-3 days. It's just in the morning someone's a few times. I don't feel like its been enough to dehydrate me though. If she feels like she can't get enough fluid in to replace it she should call the dr they may need to give her an IV. 19. I wouldn't worry too much. Have her focus first on the water of that's what she can tolerate. I couldn't add the protein shakes until after the 2nd week. It'll come in time but she doesn't want to get dehydrated or constipated. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. Talk to them and let them know how important it is for you to reach this goal and how much their support means to them. I do better writing my thoughts, so maybe a greeting card that says thanks for your support, you've helped me get this far and I really appreciate your continued support as I progress closer to my goal. 23. I was told no rice pasta or bread for 6 mos because out can swell in your pouch. But I wonder if they just want us to reduce carbs. Not sure but I'll avoid then as advised. I do feel tired and weak but its only been 4 weeks post op today so that may have something to do with it. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

  25. So I took your advice on the food and it definitely helped with three pain. I also took my premier protein shakes that's you sweet for me now and blended it with a handful of frozen strawberry and drank the whole thing with no pain. This will definitely help me to reach my protein goal. Thanks so much. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
