    Keto/Low Carb

4 years PO from GS. Would like to lose about 20lbs. Do sleevers need to do anything different when it comes to keto/low carb lifestyle?
  2. I am 11 days post op and on the full liquid stage. We are going out to dinner this evening at a seafood restaurant with some friends, they are having all you can eat crabs and I am not sure how I will manage. My plan allows for creamy Soups and for the past few days I've been living off of this Soup my MIL made me. It's a creamy sweet potato and leek soup and my stomach can handle it just fine. After taking a look at the menu, my only options for soup are Crab bisque, French onion soup, and oyster stew. I do not care for oysters so cross that one out. Which one would be the best for me to order? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I just ordered the unjury unflavored Protein powder because I am having such a hard time stomaching the shakes. How much protein do you typically add to your meals? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. So I am 8 days post op and I'm really struggling! I feel like a failure, I can't get my Water in... I don't want to eat, but hungry at the same time... so when I do eat I feel nauseous. I keep reading stories of people trying new foods and throwing up and it's really scaring me because I don't want a life of vomiting all the time. I'm feeling a lot of regret.... just not in a good place mentally right now. Tomorrow is my first post op appointment and I'm scared of what the doctor is going to say about not getting my water in. I know I am dehydrated.... it's been a struggle since I left the hospital. The only positive thing out of this so far is that I've lost 22lbs. Please just tell me it gets easier!! I broke down in tears earlier out of complete frustration... this is really hard! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I had a meltdown :(

I am feeling a little better today... had my first post op appointment today and my doctor said I am doing well and that I could advance on to full liquids. My mother in law made me this delicious sweet potato and leek Soup (creamy, no chunks and creamed Soups are on my approved list) and it was so delicious and the first thing I've been able to eat without feeling like I'm going to get sick! Definitely hit the spot and I actually feel satisfied. So that made me feel much better! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I had a meltdown :(

Thank you all so much for the words of encouragement! I am feeling a little better today but just can't wait to feel "normal" again. I have a slow release omeprazole but it says not to crush or chew on the box. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Hi everyone! I just had my sleeve done on 1/10/17. So far, the recovery has gone well. I am having a hard time getting all of the recommended Water in, as well as eating all the food and Protein in one day. The water makes me feel so full! My question is..... I know protein is very important, especially in the beginning, but I am having a really hard time tolerating it. I don't like the taste of any flavor ive tried and it makes me gag everytime I drink it. Are there any alternatives to the shakes? like maybe a chewable protein Vitamin or something? please help me out!

    Unflavored Protein

Thank you so much! Can you tell that it's in your food? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I am 1 week post op today and still on the clear liquid diet. I noticed the last few days when I would eat a sf popsicle that my stomach (or lack there of ) just rumbles and rumbles like crazy... it gets to the point that I don't even want to eat the damn thing anymore. Anyone else have this happen or know why it's happening? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I used to love crystal light before surgery, now I can't really stand it! Too sweet! Maybe that's a good thing! I found a pre-made Protein shake that I can stomach, doesn't exactly meet the daily requirement but it's better than nothing. Still trying to get all the water in but very difficult!
