I thought about going to Emory until I found out my insurance would not cover bariatric surgery. I am going to Mexico soon instead. Best wishes to you!

I always find it best to ask the patient coordinator who they recommend financing through. I could not afford to finance the US cost so I am financing the cost of surgery in Mexico.

Scheduling my surgery currently ???? & I am paying $8900 in Mexico. My insurance does not pay for bariatric surgery.

I take extended release metformin. I don't think these can be crushed because it would cause all of the medicine to hit at once. Has anyone else had this concern?

I will be having my surgery with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico and he performs 2 leak tests and that is included in the fee (I'm self pay). There is no way I would have a procedure done by that doctor!

Hey! I was just wondering how you were doing? I am new here and appreciated you sharing your experience.

I am new to this app and probably don't have a place to say this, however, we all have been treated in a not so nice way before. If we all spent time complaining about companies or managers, we would not have time to take care of ourselves or our family. We all have enough stress in life and three dollars and a poor experience will not ruin my day. Stress kills. Have peace within yourself and never go back there again if you choose. I am saving to have surgery by Dr. A. I've watched every video of his and never seen one bad review about him. I am currently waiting to hear back from Susan to see if they have any in house financing because I don't have the 8900 but am desperate to have him as my surgeon! I hope you have the very best experience!
