  1. I've tried chewable vitamins and they are worse then trying to swallow vitamins. The chewable ones gave me horrible nausea, which is why I switched. I might try out the "pixie stick" vitamins you mentioned. Those were one of my favorites as a child
  2. This is great! I didn't really know what ti expect but this helps give me an idea of where I should be!
  3. I am almost 3 weeks post-op and was just curious when actual hunger returns? I haven't felt it at all since surgery. I drink my protein shakes when I am suppose to even if i don't feel hungry to make sure I get the recommended amount of protein. And I try to get in 64 oz of water but most days its tough. Thanks in advance!
  4. Are you legs swelling? If they are swelling I might be concerned about blood clots. I would call you dr to make sure everything is ok.
  5. Is anyone else having trouble swallowing vitamins? I cut my multi vitamin in half and can't hardly swallow half without gaging. Prior to surgery I could swallow a while on with no problem.
  6. No it was never mentioned to me at all. I was under the impression that I would be losing a pound a day for the first month. All I have been eating are protein shakes and 1/2 cup of soup a day. I had a popsicle once and I get on the scale the next day and have gained a pound. It's just frustrating and scary. I went through all this and a stinking popsicle I gain a pound. It's just like what is going to happen when I start eating food... I'm sure I'm overreacting but it just makes me nervous.
  7. I'm on a similar plan. I'm so ready to move past the liquid phase and get into some pureed foods!
  8. I just started phase 2 of my post op diet and since I've started I haven't' lost any weight and I actually have gain 1/2 a pound. I have premier protein for breakfast, tomato soup for lunch, and bariclear protein shake for dinner. The last 2 night i have treated myself to a Popsicle but they have less 100 calories. I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong so I'm a little confused and depressed. Any advice is welcome
  9. Yeah they weren't bad at all. Like you said a couple pinched but nothing bad.
  10. Does it hurt to have them taken out? I get Mike out tomorrow and I'm a little nervous.
  11. These couples days have been though!! Monday I was starting to really start to feel normal after my surgery in 6/29. I woke up at 4am with 102 fever and freaked out. I called the on-call doctor to make sure I didn't have an infection and she wasn't concerned because I didn't have any other symptoms accompanying it. In the morning I woke up with a sore throat and my husband checked and it looks like strep. Went to urgent care and sure enough I have strep throat. Go figure. So for the last 2 days I've felt absolutely horrible. I hope today is better.
  12. How long did they last? I've been super lucky to have little pain and no vomiting or nausea but these spams are kicking my butt. And it usually happens when I take a drink
  13. Yes I went home the same day as my surgery. I've been feeling pretty good. The worst part in the beginning was the gas pains. The incisions are sore but manageable. The only thing bothering me now is the GI spasms but the medication takes care of them. I've been so lucky to have no nausea or vomiting.
  14. My doctor wants me having between 40-60 grams of protein a day and it been hard for me too. I was sleeved on June 29. I set a timer for every 15 minutes and drink 1 to 1.5 ounces each time.
  15. The more you sit up straight should help too. Gravity forcing it up and walking. Too hot here today to walk out side so I just walk laps around my kitchen 10 minutes at a time
  16. I've tried the Nextar protein shakes and like all the ones I've tried. I'll see if I can find a link to a sample pack that you can order. Caramel Macchiato was my favorite! Taste just like an ice one from Starbucks
  17. I have the same feeling too. Seems like now every time a take a drink I get a little burp. I don't really have any tips other than that
  18. Feeling pretty good all things considered. The worst pain has been the gas pain. Getting up and around has been it a lot better.
  19. Update: surgery went great!! The pain has been very manageable. The worse part has been the gas pains but the more I get up and around the better it feels
  20. Super nervous and excited! Been waiting anxiously all day to hear from the hospital about what time my surgery will be... wish me luck!
  21. Glad to hear everything is going well!!! I'll be getting my surgery June 29th!!! Only a couple more days! Are you back to work or when will you be?
  22. Today is better! I guess I naively thought that i had gotten over the hump. Thanks for the encouragement!
  23. I'm 1 week into my 2 week liquid diet and I'M STARVING!! I don't get it?!? I've done the same thing for the last week and did ok but today my stomach keeps growling... anyone else in the same boat?
