  1. Actually the nurse at the hospital I was at said she was going to get me one but she forgot and I called them a few days later and said I could pick it up. My mom was like definitely do this since it was most likely already included in the bill! I got operated same day as you so it might not be too late to try and call them! 2. I dreamt that I was eating Chinese food in New York City last night lol. The only weird thing about my cravings is im craving everything lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I have a special round roll of pepperoni bread flown to me by my dad from a little Italy bakery in Erie, Pa that I'm saving for the day I can nibble on some of it. It's waiting for me in the freezer. It's so good but I will wait. Hopefully it'll keep for all of eternity lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Right on, my local grocery store (HEB )sells these Protein cookies in the health food aisle that I look forward to trying out once I'm back on solids. Just can't go nuts and eat too many thinking it's all good for me! Too much of anything you know how it goes! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I just want to say to all readers that I hope I haven't lead by example! Twenty minutes later and I'm doing just fine. I'm glad it was only half a slice of cheese and not a whole one even though I really wanted a whole slice - my mom told me no and that was good on her. Had a probiotic gummy and drank some Water afterwards and hoped for good digestion. It tasted so good and creamy! This will hopefully be my only break! Back to the perpetual flame of obeying the liquid diet! If only everlasting gobstobbers were real! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. That's the advice I'm following! also taking them before my first meal so they don't have to conflict with anything else in there! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Yeah no más no más lol! In two days it's full liquids for me. Just gotta hold out! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Oooo I did it. I nibbled on a little slice of muenster. It was so good. It was like half a deli slice! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. What if I eat a piece of cheese? lol I'm all wide eyed thinking about this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. When I feel hungry I want all the food. But it isn't too intense. I just know that if I don't have those few spoons of full liquids I'll feel deprived. I'm a natural born rebel so if I'm feeling like that I'll do something stupid like eat some waffle fries and chic fil a sauce. So I dip my toes in the Water. Now I'm not suggesting you eat tacos but spooning the juice off some chicken tortilla soup probably won't hurt. See. Im just a little bad. However I never push my body too far and you probably should just hang in there Sent from my iPhone I thought about that already - was going drive thru getting tacos for my dad and almost wanted to ask if they could just give me the broth from their chicken soup but I thought it would be a weird request! Just gonna keep sipping on my last bottle of water of the day to meet my water goal. It ain't easy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I haven't broken my liquid diet yet but I just wanna comment that I really really want tacos right now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Well still have two more days of just Clear liquids and then another seven days of regular liquids! Pains been okay, I wear a binder sometimes and it feels good! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Sleeved 12/29. I almost cried before going to a movie on day 3 post op sitting in the movies restaurant with pizza, cheeseburgers, popcorn etc all around. I was questioning what I'd done to myself and wishing my stomach was still normal. I wish the smell made me nauseous, the sight and smell are appetizing to me it's like blood to a vampire. It's everywhere too. And yet, no regrets. It's gotten better by day 5. I'm happy stepping on the scale every morning and seeing weight slide off. I don't want anyone else burdened by what I'm going through. I've told my parents they are free to eat in front of me and carry on as usual and not feel sorry for me. And I've also felt - this is not an overnight process by any means, it takes patience, commitment, and determination. All things I'm working on! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Because I'm determined to get just as good results and I don't want malabsorption since I take regular meds and didn't want that to get out of whack! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I'm on day 5 post op and am down 10 lbs since my surgery date! I've had minimal getting out - walking around the grocery store, around my neighborhood block. Can't wait to feel good enough to get dressed and go out for my long walks. No issues so far just minor pain which my codeine syrup has done a good job and no nausea. Finally getting regular no. 2s in the bathroom. Mostly all I have is Water and Protein shakes, ocasional Jello or broth. Hopefully I'm ready to bounce back into school by January 17th! 16. Thanks for y'all's responses so far. Really informative. It's all a learning process I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I have some ancient bras lying around from around 9-10 years ago that are a cup down from what I am now, will keep them in mind as I continue to lose weight and may start to feel some shrinkage. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Why the time gaps? I'm 5 days post op and... whoops I guess. I've been having my Vitamin cocktail (six pills, four gummies) every morning one after the other. o.o guess there's still time for me to correct myself Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. This is genius! I live near a military burn center hospital. Did they cover most or all of it? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. This sucks for me since I already have naturally thin hair. Although it could be attributed to being overweight, stress, depression -- everything else I've got... which is this a catch-22 now that I've had wls, things might just get worse for my hair? I've been taking hair, skin, and nail vitamins for some months pre-op in hopes to build up a store of vitamins and will keep taking these and praying my hair doesn't get worse.
  21. Have you tried omeprazole-sodium bicarbonate? It's not so much of an antacid as it is as an stomach acid inhibitor -- it reduces the overall production of it. Taste terrible - like chalky coconut Water, but it's one swig of the mixture a day and I've had zero nausea or vomitting.
  22. Stick to it as much as you can, it'll just be more restrictive and for sure in concrete to follow when you are operated on. And you really don't want there to be any complications on when they operate on ya. Most terrible thing they will do is cancel it and reschedule it at a later time. I think the most important time to follow the rules is in the day before surgery -- Clear liquids -- they made me drink a bottle and a half of magnesium citrate to hxc clear my bowels which wasn't pleasant lol. Best of luck on your own journey!
  23. Hey! Where do you buy your Genepro from -- Amazon? Currently on Protein shakes but if I can mix it into my food later that'd be cool too. Can't wait till next week when I can have pudding. Do you think it's the best flavorless Protein powder?
  24. For me, carbonated bevs of any kind are on the no list for me which sucks because I love Topo Chico mineral water. Maybe mini bottles of it several months post op. .-. Interested to see what others think that have been operated on for some time already.
  25. Maydawn1972 is right! It's something you won't fully get until you finally go through with it. Some changes I noticed that were automatic -- getting used to sleeping on my back (if you're a tummy sleeper, this will change while you recover if you don't want to be in pain from your incisions - I built a pillow barrier around my arms and extra pillows under my head which helped), and needing to take sips and not chugging something like I used to pre-op. No more beer bongs lol Still no regrets! It's tough, takes balls, and gets kind of lame when my options are limited just 4 days out to broth, Protein shakes, and Jello. Still have to try out Crystal Light to spice things up a bit. Things will get better though! Buy jello in ALL the colors for variety. Sodium free broth is better than the regular kind that's loaded -- add a dash of your own salt if you want and I've added lime for extra flavor - no issues with the citrus factor. Good luck!
