Stick to it as much as you can, it'll just be more restrictive and for sure in concrete to follow when you are operated on. And you really don't want there to be any complications on when they operate on ya. Most terrible thing they will do is cancel it and reschedule it at a later time. I think the most important time to follow the rules is in the day before surgery -- Clear liquids -- they made me drink a bottle and a half of magnesium citrate to hxc clear my bowels which wasn't pleasant lol.
