  1. I am one month since surgery and only allowed cardio now. There is a higher risk of getting a hernia still so soon out. Hoping to get clearance at week 6 for weights. You should ask your doctor what is best for you.
  2. You look amazing! Congratulations!
  3. You look absolutely stunning! Congratulations!
  4. You need to make sure your getting in your minimum protein levels and water. Only one protein drink and a small bit of meat with cheese sounds like you would be well short. When you then consider your activities that result in calorie burning (walking and moving in general) you probably had a lack of fuel to keep it burning. You will not lose if your body does not have the protein to keep burning. Remember, it is a marathon, not a sprint...try not to weigh yourself everyday, but keep track of of nutrients, get in your minimum requirements, keep moving and it will happen. You got this!
  5. Everyone has different diets. I had to wait 3 weeks for soft foods.
  6. Mona, did you get an aspirator from the hospital? It helps to clear your lungs. As far as the temp, notify your doc if it goes over 101. Good luck, hope you feel better.
  7. Sally, it will be a little while before they subside. Gas x and walking are excellent for the gas. Also, make sure your taking small sips so you are not taking in too muck air. I'm almost 1 month out (sleeved 2/9) and get the burps, but not as bad now and getting better every day. Good luck and congratulations!
  8. Congratulations! Welcome to the losers bench! Make sure you walk as much as you can, it really helps keep the pain at bay as well as the gas down.
  9. It does, hang in there cache, you can do this! I'm sure you are but figured I'd ask...Are you walking? That made a huge difference for me. The more I did, the better I felt.
  10. Congratulations and wishing you a safe and speedy recovery
  11. This looks like it could do, where can it be purchased?
  12. Glad to hear that! Gonna try beans in the morning. Someone suggested adding a teaspoon of low fat sour cream to make it creamy. Might try that way.
  13. You too Emily...and how you doin.
  14. Your almost to goal! You gonna get them steps in?
  15. I used a personal trainer once, found it o be a waste. I use fits tar which is an app from Fitbit. They have online trainings that cover everything. I started using pre-op and loved it. It "kicked my butt" Looking forward to starting again once I'm healed enough. Will be starting the toning sets.
  16. Miss Kay is spot on...Multi and biotin are the main to use pre-op
  17. That doesn't sound normal to me, do you have a stent or open incisions?
  18. I am restricted for about 6-8 weeks. Doc says he only wants protein to ensure no excessive or unnecessary gas pressure. It's a short amount of time to deal with vs having to deal later with potential issues
  19. Holy moly! Haw can a doctor do this to a patient especially with such a significant surgery! You should report this to your insurance if it was covered. Anyway...clear liquids and protein shakes only for the first few weeks ( I had two weeks), then you can introduce low fat, low sugar yogurt, sugar free pudding in third week. Intake goal :48 oz of fluids / 60 grams of protein Next three weeks for me are liquids, soft proteins (tofu, soft chicken, eggs, yogurt, retried beans etc. ). I am not allowed fruits or vegetables until 6 weeks out. Goal 64 oz fluids 60-80 grams of protein. Check out theworldaccordingtoeggface.com, she's got a lot of suggestions for this and each stage. After week 6, can start to introduce all textures and fruits &veggies. Good luck!
  20. Jeweled, I don't see you in Fitbit yet, did you send invite? It is vban@charter.net
  21. Nice! I'm gonna tried retried tomorrow myself. Someone suggested putting a little sour cream in it to smooth it. Nice job on the step challenge today by the way! Tomorrow you can walk outside to expel any of the musical beans, lol!
