I was banded on 4.1.08 and had my first fill yesterday (4.28.08). I don't notice any difference at all and still feel like my stomach is screaming for food.

I am six days post op and supposed to be on liquids only for 10 days. Has anyone violated this policy? I would love to have some chili or potato soup...

I was just banded 4.1.08 and have already gotten hiccups a few times event though I haven't eaten. The nurse said it was from drinking too fast....I gotta learn to SIP.

Hi Kat! I was just banded yesterday and was feeling the same things you are. It was my first surgery of anykind so you can imagine. But honestly, I got the butterflies when I first arrived at surgery center but the staff was great and I just focused on how lucky I was to be having this done. For years we have struggled with weight and now with the band we have a viable tool to help us succeed. My advice-take someone who really supports your decision to get banded and imagine all the cute clothes you'll be shopping for!

Hello-I am 1-day post-op. Had a very difficult time with anesthesia and breathing after. I am having to use a breathing spirometer...anyone else have to do this? I have not had any gas pains for which I am thankful but overall just feel terrible...tired, rundown, sore. Any words of encouragement would greatly help!

MY insurance has an exclusion for any 'bariatric' treatments so insurance was not an option for me. As I said, I am being banded Tuesday, April 1 in Dallas. My cost of $15,000 covers 10 fills or 2 yrs of adjustments.

I'm in the home stretch...I get my band Tues. April 1. I have been on 3 protein shakes and one meal (consisting of 4 oz chicken breast and 1/2 green veggies) a day for almost two weeks. This head hunger is killing me! I feel like putting a slice of cheese on my hand and pretending it's a cheeseburger! HELP! Is this normal? I thought once I made it through the first few days of liquid I would be fine but this head hunger is putting up quite a fight!

Hi- I am 5'4 and started the lapband journey at 302 lbs. I am on my second and final week of pre-op diet (I've lost 15 lbs) and am scheduled for my band on 4.1.08. I would suggest talking to another surgeon....l can't imagine why anyone would suggest gastric over lapband.

I am on my first day of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet and I am HUNGRY! My shakes don't taste all that terrible, but there not all that filling either. I am in this for the long haul and determined to stick it out. But please, someone tell me my hunger will ease in a day or two!

I would love some V-8 right about now. I am on my first full day Myocell shakes....13 days to go!

I am scheduled for surgery 4.1.08 and have a BMI of 52.7. I am curious if anyone that had similar weight to loose could shed some light on how much you lost in the first 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months.

Oh my gosh! Your weight loss is amazing!! How long have you had the band? I need to lose around 150 lbs myself.
