  1. Lol!!! You got me there! Yes, my bed is made every day now. and thanks hon!
  2. I went all fanatic today about my kitchen cupboards. My girls tend to accumulate snacks and I’ve just had it. I pulled them all out and together and said eat these. So they did. Then I threw whatever was left away. Went to the store a little later with my oldest...she says “mommy, I’m going to buy some cookies”. I say “say what? No you aren’t. I just got rid of that junk and you won’t be putting them in the kitchen, and for sure not your room! So NO, no cookies!” She settles for gum. If the temptation isn’t there, I won’t bother with it, but there’s been too much of it, partly my fault. So I’m done. And hopefully I’ll get my kids to eat a healthier snack alternative as well, which they will, cause they have no choice now. LOL
  3. Garden of Life for women. Once daily. Also read about a study done of wls’ers and probiotics. If I remember correctly??? about 70% (or more) achieve their weight loss goals better or further than those who don’t take any. I’ll need to find it though. Besides, they’re great for your gut!
  4. Thanks @Apple1. I keep most my meals no more than 3oz now. 4 if it’s salad. I try to weigh it. That’s the extent of counting anything and usually that doesn’t happen. Lol. I’m so glad you’ve maintained! And well so. That’s awesome. Great before and after pics too. I love the scenery on the before, Peru??
  5. That is nice. I wish mine would! Maybe I should ask them...
  6. Why not start the changes NOW, as opposed to next week? I usually have something encouraging or positive to say...so, although I agree with for sure, exercise—the benefits of that alone induces quite a bit of change; I’m sure you’ll help someone out who needs or feels like they need to do all of these. Personally for me, it’s just too much stuff to do.
  7. It takes approximately 6 months for your stomach to be healed completely. A great time to really develop good eating habits, eating slow, chewing well, etc.
  8. Okay, so yesterday was our 9 month post date. My loss has slowed considerably, but I'm not complaining. From my highest weight (according to my scale), I've lost 82lbs. Hey, I'll take it! We'll see what the doc's office scale says today. Here are before and afters. My belly looks to be the part that'll be the last to go. I think I heard somewhere "the first place you gain tends to be the last place you lose"...so far, pretty true. LOL Anyway, I hope you all are doing well. I'm still going strong with my plant based diet, could do better, but I'm not going to stress about it either. I just eat what I want, but I do make the effort to eat good. I'm really learning to not stress. I go to the gym, not thinking of numbers (how long, how many calories burned, etc) in any way (I'm just not made that way!). I work out, some days hard, some days easy. Currently I'm very sore from a heavy weight workout yesterday. I'm anticipating not being able to really move tomorrow. LOL I will be going to the gym for an easy bike ride today though. Hope you all are doing well. We all have our busy lives, but its good to hear from each other from time to time. I'm back on more, I quit my job....so yeah, no stress!!!
  9. Wish I had come back to this thread sooner....I'm glad you're doing great! I hope the year is going just as well for you so far!
  10. This to me is stress free....great job!!!
  11. I'm right there with you! Although I've been hungry since day 5 post op. LOL I have about 30-40lbs by 1 year as well, my loss has slowed a lot. At this point, its up to us to really make it happen. For me though, I'm not trying as hard as I could. I'm just living life, no counting, just going to the gym, stress-free as much as possible and believing it'll come off. Obviously, I make better choices with food. Except for the holidays, I decided I wasn't going to pay attention so much...it didn't make much of a dent. If it did, I don't know...cause I don't weigh myself. LOL But my clothes are still getting looser, so that's all that matters to me, I guess. But for us to be about 30 lbs to goal...that's pretty good considering we're not at 1 year yet. So, we can do it...let's make the effort to really focus these next few months! Yeah???
  12. WoW! I'm cringing thinking of the pain...but hey, women are strong creatures right!? We can take it...hope your recovery goes super quick for round 2 and even after that round, even quicker!!! Have a blessed day hon!
  13. No worries....thanks hon! Maybe I should have been a little more clearer too...as a fit girl, I'd essentially be "skinny, but with muscle", definitely don't want to be a skinny flabby one. Not at all attractive to me and I don't think my body can achieve that look with my build and for sure, my lifestyle. So, yeah...skinny fit...looking forward to that. You look great btw!
  14. Whoa girl...I honestly can't help you with the free popcorn dilemna! Wish I could though, I eat popcorn every chance I can! It can be pretty bad! Thus, I couldn't ever work at a movie theatre. Nope, no way. You're brave! I DO HOPE YOU FIND a "cure" As I was typing, I thought... if you allow yourself one small handful, and NO MORE, then you can enjoy that little bit and go on your merry way. BUT, a big BUT...if you cannot discipline yourself...yes, please find an alternative. Hope someone can chime in here for you!
  15. I have my days of seriousness and days of fun, but overall, I do love me some Doctor @FluffyChix too!
  16. Carry some mace! I do, everywhere I go. Hey, I can relate to the power/strength of when I was heavier. We had to be strong to carry all that extra fat! I even did my weights 3x a week as obese. Now, I'm still doing them, but don't feel as strong as before. Anyway, I plan to get there again. As to the OP question...NOPE!!!
  17. I haven't noticed much difference at all, I'm not at skinny and don't ever plan to be...maybe I can give a better answer when I hit "fit". But 81lbs down...of all the people I associate with they are still just as accepting and nice to me as before. Strangers..nope, no difference. Men, I don't pay attention...I've got my husband who has all my attention. (Ya'll can all just go throw up now...lol)
  18. I was right there like you. I just had water and mostly broth. Nothing cold was good at the time. I had to have warm broth and even room temp to warm water. I don’t think I had a protein drink until day 4 or 5. I went off all pain meds on day 3. But, it truly does get better each day. I hope and pray it is the same for you too. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself.
  19. Lack of education and knowledge is “the easy way out” excuse. If he’s not open to entertaining the idea of getting educated about WLS, then I’m sorry you have to deal with that. I hope he’s willing to learn for you.
  20. You will feel better each day! Keep that walking up and drinking, err sipping water too. I can’t wait to hear of your awesome progresses. ?
  21. Well, I wasn’t offended and never said I was. I think it’s just gone overboard...and yes technically it’s still about other members. Just because you didn’t name anyone it doesn’t mean it wasn’t or couldn’t been about them. Sometimes it’s just wise to stop. most rants and raves on here are a personal matter, not to talk about other users.
  22. Still waiting....no updated schedule other than an international debut that happened two days ago.....
  23. I personally think it’s had enough. Time to move on to another post that’s not making fun of others.....
  24. Completely. Most likely head hunger. Just stick to your plan. About 5 days post, I was actually hungry. Some get hungry and some don’t. Be sure to listen to your stomach, not your head.
