  1. My breaking point: Not to mention my heart attack in 2011 at the age of 43. but the fact that I gained 70lbs since my heart attack was my breaking point. I had a heart attack in 2011 after taking diet pills for 5 weeks and losing 12 lbs. just quite tired of not being able to shop at the mall like most people except for Macy's. Also it feels embarrassing to actually shop for clothes that you don't feel comfortable in or feel as though you look good in them. The sad part is.. I don't know how I got here... Having this surgery is a must for me. I started my WLS journey in April at 251 lbs, finally here I am at... 237 lbs-- my pre surgery weight.. 12/27/16 is the day my new healthy life begins.. excited and nervous.
  2. I am also having my sleeve on 12/27 and refuse to watch anything negative right now. I have done the research, talked to others and made the decision here. we will be just fine.
  3. good luck, I'm scheduled for the 27th, go for my final weigh in on tomorrow.

  11. I had the same response with my scheduler. So I made weekly calls and finally got her to submit my paperwork. I was cleared to have surgery by the nutritionist on 11/7 well the Dr's assistant didn't submit the paperwork until3 weeks later. Fortunately it only took the insurance 1 week to approve. I'm scheduled for 12/27 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. 5%. Not sure if my surgeon required it or my insurance. I'm pretty sure it was my Surgeon because they threaten to cancel if you gain. 12/27 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I'm having trouble with this as well because it seems that you are not quite ready for this surgery from a mental perspective. Mental stress can affect your physical healing. What you need to do is first get away from the abusive party, next you can talk to the doctors about next steps. They can help you with the resources needed that will get you to a safe place both mentally and physically. Then talk surgery after all of that have been resolved What state are you in? 19. I think it depends on the interpreter. Sometimes the Dr office - not understanding the requirements- requires more than what the insurance company is requiring. It's best to call your ins company member services and ask them about the requirements. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I have bcbs ny. Does anyone know when the out of pocket is due or will I be billed. I am responsible for 20% and my date is 12/27 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. My insurance required 6 months also. I didn't quite let it bother me and started the process in April. The Bariatric clinic that was doing my surgery followed me by assigning me to a nutritionist. My surgery was initially scheduled for October but denied by the insurance company because my May visit was canceled. The insurance company wanted six months of consecutive visits and would not count April. So They started from June and required 2 additional visits. I am now scheduled for December 27. So when they say six. They mean it --- do not miss any, Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
