  1. I agree. I said I would take this one moment at a time. That's what I'm doing. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  2. It really is. Between the two. I'm still having some carbs just not complex carbs like Pasta, bread, rice, etc. But some veggies have carbs. Just trying to be low on the carb scale. I think yesterday all day I had 25 carbs. I would hate to think what my carb number was even a week ago Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  3. Yay! How is the pre-op diet going for you? I am going to take my before photos as well!So far so good. I am trying to stomach 2 shakes a day and one meal, but working my way to that. Instead I do one shake, one Protein rich snack and then a protein rich dinner. I'm finding an easier time that way. Haven't cut caffeine totally but have cut out Coca cola completely and stopped smoking. I'm on day 3 and not feeling unsatisfied and feeling pretty proud of myself. When I weighed at the docs office Thursday I was 428. On my own scale today I was 418! Can't wait to see your before pics And especially your after pics. 6. Here's my "before" photo. I'm 428 lbs. Starting my pre-op diet. I'm giving up Coca-cola, smoking and most carbs. Trying to lose 25-40lbs before surgery. Hopefully January 13th during my next appointment we will schedule surgery. Picture in comments below.
  7. So far, I'm doing alright. Not hungry. Missing some things that I'm used to that are comforting for me. I've also quit cigarettes, caffeine, and Coca cola today. I haven't had any of them today and I'm doing alright. Feeling a little warm... Almost like detoxing. I've got a bit of a headache. I'll wake up tomorrow and go to the grocery store and get some more things to try. I've got a little over a month of this. Hopefully we have all our ducks in a row and on the 13th we will schedule my surgery. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  8. I had my first day of the presurgical diet. 2 servings Protein shake, 2 tablespoons smooth Peanut Butter, 1 orange, 4 cups vegetable beef Soup +2 scoops unflavored Protein powder. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  9. Ohhhh I don't know if I've ever been able to do that! Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  10. Being able to catch my breath. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  11. Ah. OK. My doctor didn't say I had to get off of caffeine. My blood pressure is only slightly high. I think he is expecting it to normalize when I quit carbs. I'm gonna consider half decaf though. Not a bad idea to begin with. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  12. @@kimberb is there a benefit to half decaf? Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  13. Thanks for that warning. I think I'm gonna supplement my caffeine by mixing my morning Protein shake with coffee concentrate so I can still have caffeine. I'm also taking a Multivitamin with B complex to help my energy level. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  14. Hey! Hoping and praying you get the date you want!!! And will be praying for you during pre-op diet! I hear it's tough but am looking forward to doing it myself!I'm excited. Going to buy some Protein rich foods this evening and some veggies and broth. I got the unflavored Protein powder as well. I'm also starting my quit smoking regime as well. I must be crazy lol but I'm excited and ready. I'm so happy to find this support group. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App

  16. That's when I want to schedule mine! 2 years ago on that date I was crossing the street when I got hit by a ford F250 and I was already big but gained a lot of weight from that. I want to have it on that day as bringing my life back to right. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  17. No official date yet, but we are looking at mid to late January! I'm starting my pre-op diet tomorrow!! Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  18. Tomorrow I start my Pre-surgery weight loss regiment. This means 2 Protein shakes and a sensible protein rich meal for dinner. Very little to no carbs. I'm officially quitting Coca cola tomorrow and quitting smoking. I must me nuts. I did get the unflavored Protein powder to maybe have some Soup in there instead of just shakes. I see my surgeon January 13th to see where I'm at and probably schedule the surgery. Removing Coca cola alone will probably help me lose some, but he wants me to lose 25-50 in a month and a half. I think I can do the 25. I also have to have an upper Gi x ray and full blood test... Do I have to drink the nasty stuff for that x ray? Most of the blood test is already done. Otherwise I just need medical clearance. My PCP is fully on board and I see her tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App

  23. Hi Guys, I'm in New Orleans, LA going for my consultation in the morning. I'm starting at 425 and had an accident with injury 2 years ago that has stunted my life in a lot of ways. I'm nervous about tomorrow. I am a smoker and know I have to quit. I'm paying out of pocket so I'm hoping to schedule this in mid January. I guess my questions are these. 1) When paying out of pocket, what tests etc did you have to go through? 2) How quickly were you able to schedule it? 3) If you were a smoker, did you quit? If you didn't what complications did you have? 4) What questions should I have ready for the doctor? Thanks in advance for any answers I get. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
