  1. I was sleeved monday too. Had the same issue happen last night. So far nothing today.
  2. I'll be 6 days postop on Christmas. Doctor said I could try yogurt and cottage cheese by day 4, will try later today. If that goes well, would it be okay to try some thinned mashed potatoes or yams, or.. something usually served for the holiday? Would powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury mix in okay with those? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. What kind of Beans are you eating? Any issues with gas? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I like the binder. They sent me home with 4 of them. Haven't gone without yet. I had them after having a c-section too and it was very helpful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I have had the binder on since surgery on Monday. Only been able to sleep on my sides. Too hard to get up if I'm on my back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I haven't had the sore throat issue. I did have horrible dry mouth and Biotene spray helped a lot! My son has been sick with a dry cough since I've been home and the humidifier has helped a lot. Might help for surgery recovery too. Just a thought. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm having a hard time getting in all the fluids. I'm scared to drink too much so I'm doing it very slow. Seems I do get a little more that the day before. Popsicles are no problem. Anything with Protein tastes gross right now. I'm still having abdominal pain. Soreness really. So I'm keeping on with the pain meds. Also been very tired, but here it is 3:30 am and I can't sleep. Ugh! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. How's everyone doing? I've been home a couple of hours. I'm really tired, but can't seem to relax at all. I'm worrying about everything. Had a scare during my surgery. Doctor said my bp was going crazy high then really low. At one point I was bleeding much more than usually because of a high bp. She actually hugged me this morning and said I scared her. So, now I'm scared and kinda wish I had stayed another night in the hospital. Hope everyone else had a much more normal procedure.
  9. I go in at 9:30, but they told me surgery will be at 11:45am. I'm nervous. I don't know how I'll sleep tonight. Haven't even packed anything yet, but from reading others posts I won't need much. Good luck to everyone tomorrow.
  10. I'm scheduled for surgery on Monday! It seemed so far away when this process started and now it's just days away. Who else is having surgery Monday? How are you feeling about it? What are your pre-op instructions? What have you stocked up on for when you get home? I'm feeling more nervous as each day passes. I think I need to commiserate with others in my same shoes.
  11. I'm on monday too! It seemed so far in the future and suddenly the day is almost here. I'm nervous/excited too. Let's "meet here" after surgery monday night or Tuesday morning and compare notes.
  12. I'm scheduled for surgery on Monday and have been thinking a lot about life after surgery. One question that came to mind... Have you ran into anyone post weight loss that did not recognize you. Like didn't know who you were? Or do people still look like themselves -100lbs?
  13. That's pretty much what mine is too.
  14. I'm in CA and have Kaiser. It is covered under my plan, but I know others who had only partial coverage. I went on the kp.org site, logged in, and looked in the benefits section. It has a cost estimator for procedures. Try looking in there.
  15. oh wow! that sounds tough. Mine is Clear liquids the first 2 days then full liquids for about a week after. Then stage 3 of soft foods (eggs, fish, etc). Regular foods come back at 6 weeks.
  16. I'm starting to think about what to buy for the post-op liquid diet. I'm trying to plan for at least the first week when I might not want to goto the store. Curious what others are buying ahead of time. My plans are: chicken broth Protein powder sf Jello sf popsicles crystal light yogurt preimer Protein shakes Anything else? Any blender recipes to try?
  17. Thanks for setting this group up. I'm still trying to figure out my way around the site.
  18. Is there a calendar with everyone's date? I thought I saw one somewhere. Maybe we can make a shared google cal where everyone can just add themselves?
  19. found the group! I joined.. I think. Surgery date is 12/19
  20. I'm scheduled for December 19th. so is this thread the December group or is there another place where the group is? (sorry, new here)
  21. My surgeon said to start the Vitamins a month before surgery. I started way earlier since I didn't know when I would be scheduled. I tried for about a week and ended up having to stop. The vitamins gave me diarrhea. Now that I'm scheduled I started the vitamins again...hoping for a better result. No such luck. They are definitely causing me issues. Has this happened to anyone else? Do yo know exactly which Vitamin was the cause? Would trying the patch vitamins be better? I'm just not sure what to do.
  22. Having surgery in a few weeks. What did you wish you had brought or were glad you did bring to the hospital?
