  1. your pouch probably has not stretched. try doing the pouch reset Plan. the first day drink a Protein shake for breakfast snack lunch snack dinner and snack on the second day have a shake for breakfast one for snack one for lunch and then do not eat until about 6pm cook a 8 oz chicken breast and eat it slowly. when you start to feel full measure what is left. that will tell you what your pouch is holding. should be about 6 oz. good luck the plan is on the Bariatric Eating.com site along with two different plans to get rid of the regain.
  2. hang in there I remember thinking how I would love to chew on the couch cushion I wanted something that tasted good so much. only three days and then you can enjoy it. your long term success really does depend on you following the rules to the letter. good luck to you
  3. my family traditionally goes to a Mexican place for taco tues. I get the chicken taco with no chips and no shells. add the veggies and power lite cheese and sour cream. I can be with family and still keep to my plan and enjoy both the company and the food. I stay super healthy 90 per cent of the time but also think that in order to live in the real world we must be able to have a healthy co-existence with food.
  4. I know you are eager to get started. however I would stick with the dr and nut suggestion. it sure cant hurt you to wait and it might hurt to push it. the tummy takes time to heal and we need to allow for that. just my option I am 10 years out and have never had a moments trouble with ulcers or pouch stretching and I truly believe it is because I follow the directions of my support team. best of luck to you. so glad you are doing so well. keep up the great progress
  5. the folks at the Mexican place really know me as I walk in they say yes a taco with no chip and not shells with power lite cheese and sour cream. we get them very cheap on taco tues so I enjoy them weekly. sure hope they don't hurt you either.
  6. ditto to all the advice. the gas was much worse than the surgery pain. water exercise and gas meds are great one thing that did help me also was heating pad the warm feeling seemed to get the gas bubble moving for me good luck
  7. way to go. I dropped weight like crazy for the first 6 months. yes you will have stalls but just keep getting in that protein and drinking the water and taking your vit. it is a journey but one so well worth it. best of luck and keep us posted on your losses
  8. I had my rny 10 years ago and generally have no issues. I do still dump usually with sugar which is the hardest thing for me to eat. I do have problems with shakes. I know they keep the sugar real low but they are all so super sweet tasting and if I am not really slow in drinking it It will make me sick. I cut it with water which helps some but I am getting the unflavored kind and mixing it in soups and with broth. doing much better that way.
  9. please be aware that some dr in the states will not provide medical follow up even long term if you have had your surgery in Mexico. I live in florida and believe me it is super conservative medically. I went to get an appt and am 10 years out but just moved here so wanted someone to do routine blood tests etc. I am having NO problems but was asked if my surgery was in mexico I told them no I had it in Louisville ky and they said they would not see patients who had the surgery in mexico. it would be something to research if you are thinking about mexico good luck
  10. sorry about your problems I have not had any trouble with the site
  11. I found a produce store that will allow me to purchase 3 asparagus spears or 4 broccoli trees etc. you can also go to the meat department and ask for small packages of meats or get the regular size and freeze in single servings. if a store has a salad bar you can also buy just the portions you want at a time. I no longer go to a store that only sells prepackaged veggies and huff if asked to cut it down. walmart will even cut a speg squash in half for me now. it is like in a restaurant you have to ask for what you want and need. good luck
  12. you might want to check with your support team or dr about using the straws -even the tiny ones. we were told to not drink from straws as they add air and that increases the gas and stomach pain. good luck
  13. absolutely it is very normal it took me a few weeks before I got in all my liquids. was just so full. if you are taking your vit and sipping all the time you should be fine. don't push it just enjoy and be so grateful you are now on the road to being super healthy
  14. I can remember my sister being upset because she thought they had brought me a tray sent back by someone else. it had 4 sf Jello cubes and 1/2 c broth. so funny I could not eat it all.
  15. heading out to an overeaters anon meeting ( for the emotional side) this will start my day off right. hope everyone has a great holiday and remembers it is about the family friends and gratitude that it is really about NOT the food.
  16. it will just keep getting better and better. the walking will really help with the gas great job
