Clerks who make Medical Diagnoses
I swear. This is one of my pet peeves in life. These people DO NOT KNOW ME, they DO NOT KNOW MY PERSONAL SITUATION, they DO NOT KNOW THE HOURS IVE SPENT ON PHONE CALLS to work through the frustrating bureaucratic red tape bull sh*t to get a situation resolved.. so WHY WHY WHY don't they just LISTEN to me and do it like I took the time to lay it out for them STEP BY STEP with CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS and REASONS WHY its so fricking important that they DO AS I ASKED!? Phew! I feel better now. Thanks.

Im struggling!!!
JJB - How many calories per day can you possibly be getting with 12 oz of food per day?? Geesh. I agree with the others, test yourself. Start eating between 800 - 1,000 calories per day. For Breakfast, have 1/2 C of low fat cottage cheese with 1/2 C of fruit. For lunch and for dinner, have 3 or 4oz of hard Protein like moist fish or chicken, then have 1/2 C of veggies like green Beans, salad, or peas and carrots, then have 1/4 C of fruit. Also, drink a minimum of 64oz of Water a day. I'll bet you that you no longer feel hungry AND that your weight will begin to drop significantly faster!

January Banders
Well thanks Klynn, but if you take into account that I lost 16 pounds prior to sugery, that means I've lost 59.5 pounds since then. Which is only 9.5 pounds more than you! Surprise!! You are doing awesome too!! *big smiles* By the time I was ready to wear jeans again, after surgery, my 24s were too big! I couldn't even wear them prior to surgery. Then it seems to have dropped a size about every month? I think?

Boise June Events
St. Al's Support Group Meeting June 13th, Tuesday 7:00 - 8:30pm The meeting is held in the white "tent" building behind St. Al's The group is led by two psychologists and usually has about 30 participants (waiting to be banded or banded). The first 1/2 hour is focused on those waiting to be banded, giving time for questions. The remainder of the evening is open discussion for all. IdahoBandsters Soup Night June 22nd, Thursday 6:30pm This month the IdahoBandsters are planning something a bit different and sure to be a lot of fun. Jackie Watts is donating an evening in her ceramic studio and will be providing mugs for us to paint while we eat. I don't think it's been decided on whether everyone should bring their own food, or if we'll do a potluck. I'll let you know when that's settled. Jackie's studio, Artist for a Day, is located in the Edwards Cinema Complex, where Overland Rd. crosses the freeway. See you there!

As of yesterday, I've lost 75.5 pounds.. now 231.5. My goal is to hit 90 pounds by July 9th. I started in a size 26 pants and 4x tops. I am now wearing size 16 jeans and 2x tops. Hi from Lima, Peru / Hola desde Lima, Peru
Hola, Hnawrocki! Welcome to LBT and Happy Birthday!!

How much are you eating?
My Dr said between 3/4 to 1C. He also wants 3 meals a day, 4 hours between each meal and no Snacks. I can eat more than 1C at times, and I do have popcorn (pop secret 100 calorie bag) but I'm losing weight at a good rate so he doesn't seem to mind about the quantity or snack.

Hello
Tell those that know about your band, that one of the reasons you chose the band was so you could have reasonable rate of weightloss. The average loss is 8-10 pounds a month (about 2 pounds a week). This rate of weight loss will help you remain healthy looking as you lose and will allow your skin time to shrink with you. Also, when we move from liquids to solids it is not uncommon for the weight loss to slow or even to experience a small gain for a short period of time. Sometimes its faster, sometimes its slower but overall I'd say that you're right on target for the expected average. Great job!

Don't know if I should go...

Old Timer's History
NEWS FLASH!! A tired old man and a salty old sea pirate were both arrested today by LBT police for disturbing the peace. Eyewitnesses say the two were engaged in a heated battle over a group of women who cheered them on. When asked for comments, the pirate simply said, "Arrrg!" and the tired old man just yawned. After the two were taken away, the women flocked around a mystery man named BIG. He was last seen grinning from ear to ear and proclaiming "nuff said!".

In pain
Hi CLOE! I am so glad you're ok! Phew! I was really worried about ya. DonnaB is right.. do let your Dr know about the incident and tell him of your plans to return to liquids. I'm sure he'll be pleased. Don't be too hard on yourself about this. You're making very good food choices and it takes some time to re-learn how to eat. You're right about needing to take small bites and chew till it's goo. But also remember that some foods are just more likely to stick and tuna with no salad dressing in it can be very dry. I'm sorry you went through such pain but I'm glad you're ok. Oh, and by the way... If that happens again, don't keep trying to eat. Take a break and walk around, lifting your arms up in the air to get the food to work its way free. The slime was a good indicator that this particular kind of food is going to get stuck. So if you decide to try tuna again, be sure to make it very moist by adding that fat free dressing ok?

Getting ready to Switch from clear liquids to Regular Food
Just realized that I missed your question about low carb. Carbs from sugars and flours usually tend to start us on cycles of over-eating that are very hard to break. The only carbs I eat now are in fruits and veggies. Yep, I do avoid breaded foods. Its just empty calories that Id rather use on something that will actually help me feel full longer. Carbs burn up quickly and then the body starts calling for more food. Also, being the dough freak that I am, I just completely stay away from all breads and pastas. Those are my downfall and luckily they are also foods that bandstsers quite frequently have trouble with, so I haven't even tried them. I just tell myself that I can no longer eat that, and I seem to be accepting that. *grins* I also stay away from sugar. I use Splenda but the only thing I ever use it in is iced tea. There is some sugar in canned fruits, but I buy the low sugar varitey and don't drink the juice.
