Personal trainer
Thank you. I appreciate manners too, and when I encounter young'uns who insist on calling me by my first name when they are the same age as my children, I remind them - sometimes forcefully - that as far as they are concerned, my first name is Mister. But the ones who are respectful, like this trainer, are asked to call me by my given name. I was back at the gym today, and sort of in a fog looking for the one machine I was supposed to do some reps on. All of a sudden he was standing there next to me asking what I needed help with. We had a nice conversation for a few minutes, he pointed out the machine, and then went back to what he was doing. I really appreciate that.

As long as you don't write again later on to tell us you are pregnant. Thank you though, and I am better. I actually made it to the gym today, and did not pass out or soil my garments. I consider that a success. I had some serious adventures today. I have some chores to do first, but I feel a story brewing.

Well, no. Not really. But I do see your point. This is a good example of why multiple points of view from people with different backgrounds is so important.

You are Brave!
I was as skeered at a little kid. Bravery is fear hanging on just a little longer. Good luck with your own new beginning!

*sigh*
When stuff like this happens to me, I become a giant pain in someone's rear end. I will call every day, a couple of times a day, or go there in person if someone is dragging their feet or otherwise not doing their job. It should not take this long for someone to call you.

Here's my dead animal picture that I took my very own self. I was taking a student to lunch at a local diner and we passed this guy on the way. We stopped to take his picture on the way home. While I was taking it, the painting crew came by. They had no smiles for me. They probably thought I was going to turn them in. The caption reads, "Mr Skunk may be dead and gone, but he is sporting a fresh new stripe."

I was a little lazy today. We had a cat. Mrs LittleBill is allergic (even though she picked out most of our cats) and said no more.

I'm not actually doing nothing. I'm just not doing either stuff that needs doing and I want to do. I've got bunches of little stuff that needs doing that I don't want to do. So I am doing that. Paperwork, cleaning my desk, stuff like that. Wow Adriant, I hope they get that straightened out for you soon! My malady pales compared to yours. Hopefully you will see some improvement soon. As things settle down in your insides, you should. Thanks, and have a good trip!

Yikes! I hope it comes out well for you. I am two months and a few days out, and things have gone very well for me. I think I just caught a bug from the Missus. She works in a cube farm, so there is almost always some sick slob wandering about . She was over it in a day, so I am hoping for the same.- Foodie Life Post-op
Not much to add, but when I first contemplated this surgery, I thought my cooking days were over. That is not the case. I am just cooking things a little differently. And like @@OKCPirate says, a little bit of food goes a lot further now.- Large bone structure? Not even close.
Even when I was a (skinny) kid in high school, I had to buy two twist bands whenever I bought a watch. We would take several links out of the second band to make the first one big enough. According to one chart, I should be around eight feet tall. Either that, or I am going to have to shrink down in weight to when I was in 9th grade. That ain't happening.- Sick and Bored
Thanks, @@reree6898! I am sitting here with the dog and trying to figure out how to get my pictures onto Instagram. I am pretty sure I will survive.- Dear Gastric Sleeve OG's....
There's fussing back and forth here? Thanks @Raymia. I don't always know the lingo. I'm old, you know.- Sick and Bored
Apparently, Mrs LittleBill played the part of Typhoid Mary yesterday. That is what my research indicates. Today started off well enough. I was getting some work done prior to leaving for the gym, when suddenly all my internal organs decided to rebel in one way or another. I am talking about my digestive tract. For the first time since I was in the hospital, my stomach got very queasy. Further down, on the alimentary canal, traffic got all out of sorts. Then I started feeling lightheaded, with my eyes burning. I sat down at my desk and reviewed my eating/drinking activity for the day, thinking I might have activated the dreaded dumping syndrome. I don't even know if I can do that with a sleeve, although there have been many fingers wagged, along with baleful glares and stern warnings at the dotor's office. I didn't do anything that would have caused that. I messaged Mrs LittleBill, telling her I was not feeling great, or even good, and especially not well. It was then that she revealed to me that the yesterday, she had had similar symptoms. So at least it was not self inflicted. Now I am sitting here at home feeling poorly, and there isn't much to do. I've plowed through as much new content as I can stand, caught up with all my friends on Facebook, and that's about all I'm up for. I don't even have any comfort food around, and if I did, I probably wouldn't mention it here. Who knows who might swoop in to remonstrate me? Kick a man when he's down? Not me! I don't think I'll expire from this, but if no one ever hears from me again... What do you all do when you are down and sick?- Dear Gastric Sleeve OG's....
What's an OG? Ober Guru?- Calcium Supplements and Eating Dairy
Interesting. I hate taking these stupid supplements, mainly because I keep forgetting them. I am going to have to do some more reading. ETA: I have a fair amount of respect for the medical people in my program, but unless I push them on issues, they have a "one size fits all" mentality about things. For example, the nutritionist kept repeating that I should be aiming for 50 grams of Protein a day. After a few times of pointing out I needed twice that for my TARGET weight, she came on board with my dietary choices.- Willpower and "Decision Fatigue"
Here's a decision fatigue story. When our girls were little, they would often badger me for permission to do something outside the norm of their regular activities. If I was tired, I would tell them I would think about it for a while and then give them a decision. They would always counter with, "You're just going to make us wait and then say no, Daddy!" "I can say no right now if you want." "No, no, we'll wait!" They very often got a yes if they waited, but if they pressed the issue? NO!- Willpower and "Decision Fatigue"
Habit and practice will go a long way to overcoming bad decision making. I'm just repeating what has already been written here, but it is worth repeating. If you don't expose yourself to bad opportunities (like lingering next to the Tastykake display in the store) you reduce the need to make decisions which will deplete your mental energy and often turn out badly.- Post conversion surgery activity
I thought this was going to be a religious thread at first. I was up walking very early in the morning the day after a late afternoon surgery, and commenced to walk a little more each day. Serious exercise waited on the approval from the medical people. Not only are they supposed to be the ones most familiar with your general situation, they will likely be the ones sewing you back together if you spring a leak.- I was ready to eat the squirrel...
@@bayougirlmrsc She sort of has two to her credit. The second one ran out of the woods and into the side of her car. It survived, and didn't do a lot of damage. We don't really count that one because it hit her, and not the other way around. But that first one, boy, did she paste it!- A bit of a shock and a hard lesson
I don't know. I guess my Maxpedition bag would qualify, but it doesn't usually go to the shop. It rides in the truck. Are they on the site here? I will have to check them out. No, they're in the grocery store by the lunchables. It's cheese and meat bites, some with dried fruit, some with nuts. I think it's Oscar Meyer brand, but I'm not certain of that. Thank you! I will look for them at the store today. I'm already going for other groceries, so this will work out nicely.- A bit of a shock and a hard lesson
