  2. Mexicana de corazón here! My surgery is scheduled 1/30/17 in Dallas and I have been on my liquid diet a week and a half. I'm with you on the taco cravings! I work across the street from a Mexican restaurant and when I go to my car after work, I smell fried tortillas, chips, and gorditas ???????????? Started making healthier Mex food for the family so they are ready when I finish my surgery! Shrimp cocktail tonight!! VSG: 1/30/17 HW: 261 GW: 150
  3. Surgery is scheduled for January 30th, but I'm trying to get everything at work prepared for when I leave/return, etc. I currently work 4 days a week, 10-12 hours/day, and am sitting for the majority of that time at my computer, in meetings, etc. where I am not in a position to get up and walk around. I am considering requesting to work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day so I can spread my work out, and be able to fit more breaks/movement in. Is there anyone that works 10-12 hour days currently (sitting)? Would it make sense to split out my schedule to 5 days so it's not so overwhelming all in the compressed workweek? Any feedback/suggestions, etc. would be helpful! ~Sarita VSG: 1/30/17 SW: 261.6 CW: 243.2 GW: 150

  7. I am also January 30th! Started liquid diet yesterday. Not going to lie, it was HARD. Got a monster headache and slept 13 hours last night. Feeling a little better today. I know it's going to get better- just keep reminding myself:) Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App

  10. Easy enough! Sort the beans for stones and skins, rinse well and soak over night in cold Water. The next morning, remove any floaters and rinse the beans well. In the bottom of a pot, fry up some chopped bacon, chopped garlic and diced onion onions. Pour in the drained beans and fill pot with half water, half chicken stock. Simmer beans until tender. (If you have a ham bone, throw that in there for sure!) I add seasonings, but I go by sight, not by measurements. A generous amount of cumin, salt, pepper, and garlic powder goes in the pot once the water is hot enough to dissolve it all. I adjust the spices according to the taste of the broth, so I am no help there. I do skim the fat off the top of the soup as it cooks out. We usually eat half the beans as soup and the other half I drain completely and mash. I fry them up in a bit of oil, with cheese, and you'll have excellent refried beans. Add sour cream, salsa verde, avocado... YUM! What time is dinner? I will bring the cilantro, cebolla y chile!! Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App
