  3. Have you lost appetite/weight this month? (If you don't mind me asking?) I have this irrational fear that this surgery will help everyone on Earth except me!
  4. I feel like I'm going bonkers counting down the days. I just want to be on the other side.

  7. Hi - I live in Herndon/Reston area in NOVA. I'm getting sleeved in June and also looking for local support groups.
  8. Hi - I live in Herndon/Reston. I'm getting sleeved in June in Mexico.
  9. I started with Dr. Marino in Reston, but my insurance changed and I had to start the whole process over as a self-pay. Now I'm going to Dr. Ortiz in Mexico because it's about 1/3 the cost of paying for it here. Where are you in the process?
  10. I'm in Sterling, Virginia. Not exactly next to Fredericksburg but not too far. I'm getting sleeved in June.
  11. I'm having the sleeve on December 19th. Good luck! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  13. Hi! I'm 37, 5'4 and currently 255 - starting weight/highest weight was 270. I'm getting the sleeve at the OCC with Dr. Ortiz on December 19th. I'm doing well on the pre-op diet, but have struggled finding a Protein shake that works for me because I am allergic to all fake sugars and sugar alcohols. Unfortunately, pretty much every shake mix has those in it. My nutritionist said for now I can stick with lean Proteins and low carb veggies, but I'm wondering how to get my protein after. I am excited for a new phase in my life. I have been on every - and I mean every diet, ever - even when I competed in triathlons I could not get below 200 lbs. I thought there were no choices left for me and that I was a failure and destined to be fat forever. I'm really inspired by other peoples' stories and it's helping me be distracted instead of eating. I'm feeling nervous and hoping I can make a friend or two and maybe even find someone headed down to the OCC at the same time as me. My family is supportive (so far), but honestly, they don't know too much about the process or understand "the struggle". Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  14. Hello, I'm new to the forum. Due to an insurance change, I am looking for self-pay options in Mexico. Does anyone have experience with a doctor in Cancun? I'm on the east coast and it would be an easier trip.
