  1. Yeahhh - a band-twin! Are you going through mushy madness, as well...wanting to eat everything you see? I am so hungry now I am about to call my dr and see if I can convince him to fill me early...or tell him that I will consider cheesecake "mushy" and eat it morning noon and night!
  2. actually, my doc told me if i can mash it with a fork, i can eat it...and i can mash just about anything with a fork that i set my mind to! you give me a bar of chocolate, i'll mash the hell out of it!
  3. I was banded 3/4 and started mushy foods last week. Already I'm sick of bananas, oatmeal and tuna. I feel like a monkey I've eaten so many dang bananas! Not to mention I'm so hungry that I could eat a house built out of chocolate and ice cream. I haven't gained weight but I've stopped losing. I was losing about 2 lbs a day and now I'm at a standstill. I want a fill now b/c I am sooooo hungry and water just ain't cutting it. Hmmmm...I wonder if Vodka is considered a "clear" liquid!
  4. I'm in the same situation. I am eating soooo much. I want my first fill NOW!!! Grrrrrrr. I want icecream. I want Cookies. I want cake. I want chocolate. I want chips. I want a hamburger! I want fries!!!! Ok. Now that I'm over that rant I must say that I am not feeling any restriction and am sick of oatmeal and bananas. I feel like a monkey and maybe it's just because it's the weekend and I'm a bit bored, but I am sick of Water, too! Any advice?
  5. Hello, Just wondering how many weeks each of you went before you got your first fill? I am supposed to wait 1 month (5 weeks) but I am thinking of calling my doc to see if I can get in at the 4th week because I am wayyyy to hungry now, am eating everything in site and have no restriction. Is 4 weeks legit or is this pushing it? Thanks, Lise
  6. Thanks, Julie - gaving a blast with it so far!
  7. I need to start being better about tracking my calories. I would guess I'm at about 1000...which probably means about 1200! Down 10 lbs since surgery. It's sooooo slow - I miss the 2 lb days! Nice work on the 14...I'm jealous!
  8. Hello, I was banded 3 weeks ago and am not sure if I am feeling any effect from the band. My doctor said that some folks feel a bit of restriction from just getting the band...but I don't think I'm one of them. I just finished some roast beef (deli sliced), a banana, and some oatmeal and I'm still hungry. Grrrr...also, how long did you have to wait until your first fill? Thanks, Lise
  9. congrats! i can't wait to start getting fills...banded march 4th...first fill in a couple weeks!
  10. Just an update - everything is going very well. On to the mushy stage and been experimenting (not too well...made mushy friendly crab cakes and they did not turn out very edible). Tonight it's mushy friendly lasagna. We'll see how that goes! Thank you all for your support via my blog. It's been a trip so far!
  11. ahhh - fantastic! I want to make it now...but it's only 10am in seattle...my mouth is watering. i'll let you know how it turns out!!!
  12. Ooh my goodness - you should write a low-carb book! you've inspired me. i'm going to make the low-carb lasagna tonight! thank you!
  13. can't say i have the same kind of pain but would love some suggestions on non-carb mushies!!!
  14. Gym...what is that? Just kidding...well, I never did the gym thing before but I do walk (I mean besides just getting from point a to point so I've been stepping up the power walking. Lost a total of 10 lbs since the surgery. It's totally slowing down since I've introduced mushies (went from a lb a day to 0.2 lb day) but hey - at least it's going down)!
  15. I did not know that! Thank you for the scoop!
  16. Hi there march 4th bandsters! How are you all doing...healing ok? I've started on mushies and not doing too great with them - mostly b/c I can't cook and was used to going out to eat prior to banding. I did just fine on the liquid stage..but find myself really thirsty with the mushies and having a hard time waiting 30 minutes after eating to drink. anyone else have any suggestions? lise
  17. I'm a march bandster! March 4th! Hello everyone - Lise here from Seattle!
  18. why can't you use a straw once you are banded?
  19. Yup - fine. I had surgery on the 4th of march and I'm making crab cakes for dinner. I was told i can eat anything i can mash with a fork...and i can mash just about anything with my fork if i want it badly enough!
