How long before stomach pain goes away?
I posted about it the other day, and what I was told was that I'm attempting to do too much too soon

Help
What I did to change up the broth was put Ramen flavoring in it, and strained the Campbell won ton soup and drank the liquid. Try drinking protein water. It gets easier just make sure you don't eat anything you're not supposed to, it can really really hurt you.

How long before stomach pain goes away?
I'm 17 days out and I'm still getting pain, like when I get up in the morning or after bending over to pick something up. Or laughing really hard.

Hungry of pureed - WTF
I'm in the same boat, but I think mine is a boredom hunger. I just make sure I'm constantly sipping in between meals.

Almost 3 weeks post op sudden pain.
They said it's nothing to worry about, that it's totally normal, but goddamn it hurts.

Almost 3 weeks post op sudden pain.
I'm searching through my stuff for the on call number, but only finding the office staff info. I'll keep looking.

Almost 3 weeks post op sudden pain.
About two hours ago I started feeling a dull throbbing pain below my big incision. I'm not sure if something is wrong or if it's just soreness from trying clean my apartment. Does this warrant a hospital visit, or should I just wait until I can make an appointment with my PCP since my surgeon is 200 miles away?

Needing Sleeve Buddies
I'm honestly not paying any attention to my calorie intake, I'm focusing on 40-60g of protein and trying to get in more than 32oz of water.

Needing Sleeve Buddies
I'm on my full liquids. They have me start pureed week three. Always follow surgeons directions. Mine let me have cream of chicken soup that's really thinned out with water, sugar free jello pudding and sugar free Popsicles. Just hold out a little longer!

Needing Sleeve Buddies
I was sleeved Nov 4th, I was finally able to wear jeans comfortably today!

FMLA and Short-term disability
I'd love to go back sooner, but my job is really physically demanding. I make guns, and the motions of pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting and standing on my feet for 12 hours made my surgeon want to keep me out until I'm completely healed.
-
FMLA and Short-term disability
Mine did. They have me out from work for 8 weeks.

Still can't wear jeans.
8 days post op and I can't wear anything but pj's, sweat pants and yoga pants. How long did it take you to be comfortable in jeans?

Herbal teas.
I've never been one for hot herbal tea, until 2 days post op. Do you drink tea? What kind do you like and why? I love sleepy time tea, right now I'm drinking throat coat by traditional medicinal because of the thrush and sore throat I received from surgery.

How did you feel 3 days post-op?
3rd day was miserable for me. But, I'm a big baby. I couldn't bend over, sleep for longer than 2 hrs and everything I tried to do was super difficult. I needed help getting up and down and in and out. Today is one week and I'm finally starting to feel normal.

Any other November sleevers out there?
My surgery was Nov 4th. I'm a week post op. I got the preop jitters the morning of my surgery. My surgeon went over the complications of the surgery with my husband and I, and he said he's never seen or heard of anything happening in surgery. It's how well YOU follow directions post op. You'll be fine just follow your post op diet, walk around every hour, and keep hydrated and you'll be on the right track.

Anyone drive themselves home after surgery?
I couldn't imagine driving after surgery. I drove myself today to some Dr appointments (it's my one week post op) and I'm still sore from it. Train tracks, potholes, speed bumps, and sudden stops really don't feel very good.

Spicing up broth.
I'm 6 days post op and was wondering if I can put pepper in my broth, or will it harm my new stomach? If it's not a big deal, what did you do to make broth more appealing?

Lovaquan shots
I'm almost a week out, and the lovenox hasn't bruised me yet. I was freaking out about having to inject myself, but it's not so bad. The needle is really thin so you can't hardly feel it in the skin. When you pull it out it kind of stings but I promise, it's not as bad as it sounds.

Numbness in my body!
I'm 5 days post of and my left thigh is numb. Has that pins and needles feeling constantly, and when I lay down it hurts. I read it could be sciatica. Since we're using muscles post op to keep our stomach from hurting, something in the back is pressing on a nerve.

Suggestions for clear liquids?
Target carries something called protein water. It's pretty tasty, and also atkins drinks called lift.

Incompetent Staff at Atlanta's Peachtree Bariatrics
I had almost the same issue. UHC told me I had to enroll in the bariatric resource program, 2 weeks before surgery. My case was pending up until 5 hrs before I got on the table. My bariatric center kept surprising me with "oh you still need to do this and that and you need to talk to your insurance and do more blood tests". Then my primary didn't fax a bunch of paperwork, some of it I had copies of so I went to staples, and spent $40 on faxing because I have to travel to the surgeon center. It was ridiculous. Moral of the story is, you might get approved on the day of surgery like I did. Good luck to both of you.
