  1. I echo Little Bill. Go minimalist. IT's hard to move around in your bed anyway. I do recommend gas-x strips and lip balm..and maybe a hairbrush. Phone charger. That's all you need. Less to mess with.
  2. YESSSSS...today was my first day at an attempt at work. I'm used to rushing out the door, 'forgetting' Breakfast...just to sneak off to the BurgerKing or Shopette gas station to pick up something. While I was out for surgery, the Army decided to remodel our building. Now we are in a remote part of post, no shopette or burger king to sneak off to. And HANGRY has me by the throat. So, I'm going home to get some REAL food (well, Protein shakes and soup). I can relate!
  3. sugar free pudding, the White chocolate is very good! I enjoy the bariatric pal hot cocoas too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. yeah I'm 4 days out and feel pretty good. I think childbirth was much worse for me, but that's just my experience Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. I've had diarrhea since day 2. And gas. Oh Lordy, the gas. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm 4 days post op too. GAS-X, GAS-X, GAS -x strips !!!! I think gas pain is worse that the incision sites. I've been walking as much as I can too. I had some nausea yesterday but that was because I didn't use my suppositories (hope that's not too much TMI). And gas pain can feel like it's everywhere, once you get that managed you might feel better. Of course, call your surgeon if you're scared. Hang in there, we've almost got this first week down! 8. My surgeon & hospital required no nails or nail polish. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Exactly!! Isn't it amazing how such a short surgery can impact your life...and that we have the technology and medical personnel to do it? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I've been using the patch MD Multivitamin Patches sold on the bariatric pal store. They're good but you might need something else for your Calcium levels too Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. GREAT! Wow, I almost hate to jinx it, but I feel good today. I didn't have to have pain meds as soon as I woke up! I had my Protein Hot chocolate, ran an errand this morning (before pain meds, of course) and I feel almost normal. Just thought I'd post this to encourage anyone worried about post-op pain & discomfort. Day three wasn't the greatest, but I can certainly feel an improvement. My creamed Soups & puddings keep me satisfied. Popsicles are Gas-X strips are still my BFFs. Hang in there, y'all! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Totally agree, once I'm cleared for real food, I'm not keeping artificial stuff around. Moderation, portion sizes will be my focus. I'm looking at the quality of foods and how REAL they are. You're not alone in your concerns on the chemicals we put in our bodies. The book Skinny Bitch made me into an overnight Vegan after reading it. Oh that phase didn't last but it opened my eyes to the CRAP we put in our foods! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. I'm on day 3 as well. GAS-X strips! They are my new BFF. I can't stress it enough. I really think the worst pain /discomfort I have now is gas. I feel more comfortable walking around the house. I've had to redefine what my version of SIP actually is. I think I've been gulping all my life! Once I mastered the art of the sip, things improved. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. yes!!! The strips are amazing and freshen your breath too! Bonus! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Me too SunsetSue, I was sleeved on 12/13. scale had me +4 pounds from the morning of surgery. I was just curious, I didn't let it bother me as I feel overinflated like the Goodyear blimp. I feel like a deflating balloon today ..all the GAS! (Hope that's not too much TMI) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
