  1. So, I'm curious. After surgery, when do you generally see the weight loss start up? 1 week after? 2 weeks? I'm not sure if I'm not losing because of barely getting nutrients in, the fact that there's probably still IV fluids in me or if it's the swelling. All I'm eating are broth, Jello and popsicles. I did eat a little bit of Greek yogurt today and drank a little medicine cup full of a Protein shake.
  2. Started in October, was scheduled in April 26th. 5 days post-op. [emoji846]
  3. Mine is on the lower right side. There's no pain anywhere on the left. I just feel really bloated and all that jazz. I Had my surgery 4/26
  4. I didn't think of that. Thanks for the suggestion. [emoji846]
  5. Thanks for the encouragement. Thanks for even replying. [emoji846]
  6. I never thought I would want to stray from the diet but here it goes. Question. Can I have peanut butter and crackers if I just chew them up really well? I'm two days away from being one week post-op and I'm sick of just eating broth, Jello and popsicles. So sick of it, I'm repulsed by it. It's only been 5 days. Smh.
  7. Tomorrow's the big day. I'm so excited [emoji846]
  8. You've done so much good for yourself. Why ruin it with one little cigarette that does more harm than good? Keep up the good work of not smoking. It has more benefits. [emoji846]
  9. All I've seen were people getting RNY. I'm getting RNY.
  10. I'm the day after. April 26th. [emoji846]
  11. Thank you that's really helpful [emoji846]
  12. This may have been asked dozens of times but I don't know... Seems like the various posts are lost in cyberspace collecting pixel dust... So I'll just ask... Are there any cook books that have recipes for the different phases of the Bariatric diet? Are there even any recipes? [emoji848]
  13. My surgery is in like two weeks. If I ever feel anxious or worried, I journal about it then weigh my pros and cons and then after that I feel better. [emoji846]
  14. I'm from Pittsburgh. I'm getting RNY also. I'll be at Magee Women's Hospital though.
  15. I have the same surgery date [emoji846] I don't have to do the pre-op diet either (if that's what you meant) Happy Spring to you too [emoji846]
  16. I'm still pre-op. I'm getting RNY in April. I've done the same thing you did. I looked up horror stories, but I also looked up stories that weren't so horrible. There were more good stories than bad ones and usually the good outweighs the bad. Although I did look up horror stories it didn't change my mind. I asked myself "Is this what you really want?" It is. My desire for health and longevity outweighed my fears. Just ask yourself if this is something you truly want right now, look at the pros and cons and ask yourself if you're ready. Sometimes things take a good amount of pep talk. [emoji846]
  17. I'd keep bugging them. It depends on what insurance you have. It took me less than a day of them submitting my paperwork to know if I got approved for surgery. If you have questions for them, don't hesitate to ask. That's what they're there for [emoji846]
  18. April 26th is mine [emoji846]
