  2. I had my sleeve done yesterday morning at 9am... at the surgical center I just had ice chips and sips of Water. They were understaffed so they discharged me last night at 8pm. Started having Isopure last night after getting home...and my nausea went into overdrive. I am taking the anti nausea dissolvable pills and oxycodine in liquid for for pain. This morning when I tried to sip the isopure to get some Protein in I instantly knew I was going to throw up. I went and stood at the sink was to scared to strain my abdomen and held it back. Then just now the same thing happened only I couldn't hold it back and threw up what little was in me and the pain of throwing up was soooo terrible. I don't think I can drink the isopure... what should I do? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. @@beatrixkiddo I was discharged the same day and last night was rough with pain. I felt like my pain meds were wearing off about an hour to 90 mins to early. But this morning I took my first levonox shot and it wasn't too bad. The sipping has been hard. My mouth is always dry but when I drink Water it hurts. Trying to focus on 4 or 5 days from now when nausea and pain have reduced. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Wow! I felt pretty good afterward and joked that i was ready to go home. Not sure that I really was. Good for you, hope you are feeling well. I am self pay. I was supposed to be there overnight. But since the surgery was at a surgical center and not a full scale hospital they keep special overnight staff for these procedures and were unable to staff it for me. So my surgeon consented to send me home. I'm sitting in the passenger seat hugging a pillow. Wish me luck on the 2 flights of stairs I have to climb. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. My surgery is scheduled tomorrow morning at 9am. I'm self pay and the surgical center they use is not equipped for overnight stays as in staff... but they do that for these surgeries. They called me this morning and said they were unable to keep me over night because of staffing issues. So they will discharge me at like 8pm. I'm really scared. 8. I will be having my sleeve done on Thursday ... nervous and scared all at once... my concern now is my 22 month old son... he weighs 35lbs ...he loves mommy time and snuggles. My surgeon said I won't be able to pick him up for about 3 months which I understand... but what about hugging and cuddling? Will that put me at risk? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. So I had to do a sleep study as well. The purpose is to make sure that you do not need a Cpap machine for surgery. My insurance did not cover it either. BUT I found a place that let me do an at home sleep study where you pick up the equipment the day of and return it the next morning. This cost $250. Still a lot of money but less than $600. 10. I've read about some people not weighing until their first post op checkup. Maybe wait till then so you ca me pleasantly surprised Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. So I feel like I went through something similar. My husband wanted me to wait as well. I am currently scheduled for Oct 6th. My concerns that I voiced to him were that at the moment I do not have any Co-Morbidies like diabetes or heart disease. However, in one year it's very likely that I would which would in turn create more problems. As you said you are scared your health may change if you do not do something now. He won't truly understand that part of it. But do your best to put his mind at ease. Show him success stories and before and after pics. Watch YouTube videos of people's stories. All of this might help. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Thank you all so much! This alone has made me feel a little less nervous! Will keep you posted! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. My nutritionist said it should take 15 mins of slow sipping Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. My surgery is scheduled for Oct 6th I'm very very nervous. I am self pay so I will be discharged the next day. My surgeon has me on a one week diet of 5 Protein shakes per day but I just got my period and my weight went up like 4 lbs which is common for me but very frustrating right now. I also was wondering if it will be difficult for me to climb stairs the next day to go up to my room? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
