  2. Totally agree with @@KristenLe said re bra. If you can get an ahbra with no wires type thing use that. The most pain I've experience has been my bra wires rubbing my incisions Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. We all have one challenge or other. As I've stated above, I've breezed through recovery so far. However...., I can't stand Protein shakes. I've tried all these and they make me want to gag. Anyone else having this problem ? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. @Minicole you will be fine. Try to not stress although I know that's easier said than done. Look forward to looking feeling great very soon. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  5. Hang in there anyone that's scared and not yet been sleeved! It must be hard being in late Oct and reading all our scary posts. I had my op on the 5th so was one of the early ones. I also had my gallbladder out. I wanted to reassure any scaredy cats like me out there as I was really terrified and dreading it. I'm a week in and feel really good. I only needed pain meds for the 1st few hours after coming round. I had terrible nausea but the nurse told me that the nausea could be from the morphine so we knocked it to 'on demand' and I was fine after that and have never needed pain meds since. So please bare that in mind if you are feeling nauseous and on morphine you may want to try asking for it on demand. I took meds for acid reflux for a few days but that seems fine to be now. Attaching pic of one of my incisions as the steristrips just came off. It looks red but it's a small incision(Multivitamin for scale). No stitches and not sore. It can be scary when you see 7 ( in my case) bandages so I wanted to reassure you. Hoping that those of you still to be done have such an easy recovery. Hugs and good luck X Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. @@hats123 thanks for asking. I had my 1 week post op check up today. Doc seems to skip purée stage and told me I can have cottage cheese, egg, soft foods. Just had an egg. Tasted like heaven. I feel like I could go a couple of spoons of cottage cheese now 20 mins later. I'm definitely not one of the people that can't face food sadly. Tomorrow I'm going to try yogurt with Protein Powder and a strawberry blended in. I started at 192lbs. I'm 5'7. 7 down so far. Can't wait to b where u are Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm hating the Protein shakes. Is it possible to get your 60g of protein in when you move to real food without boosting with Protein Shakes or Protein powder. I can't stand either. I'm concerned about the quantity of meat eggs you can manage. Do any of you not touch shakes etc and have still lost weight ? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. @@OzRoo I am having a broth with soy Protein in it but it's not y thing. Please tell me we don't need to do the fake protein thing forever ? When I move to soft food can I switch it for cottage cheese or egg ? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I'm in my week 1 of Clear Liquids with the nasty shakes that I can't tolerate!!. Anyone got any good recipes for broth or homemade shakes using soy or pea Protein. I can't tolerate dairy. Thx Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  12. I was "done" on We'd. The first day was rough but I've been fine since. I'm having no probe with getting the liquids in but hate the Protein shakes. Anyone found a nice one ? Or other way to get protein in the first stage. I am hungry though and really missing food. I know it's probably head hunger and acid reflux but I can't wait to get to the soft food phase so I can have a bit more. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  13. Is it ok to use during the first week on liquids post surgery ? Thx Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. Thank you. It's not a huge difference but every pound counts. I've been in a two week stall so I'm trying to stay positive. Your starting pic looks like me. I was sleeved 3 days ago but was wondering how you're getting on @@Lain01

  18. I know! I'm super missing food. What the heck! Thought my appetite was supposed to go. Everyone says when you start real food that hunger goes. I'm also not sure I really know what hunger pains feel like. As previously every time my tummy felt empty or rumpled I nibbled on cheese or Snacks previously Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. Ok here's my update for pre surgery folk. I had my sleeve plus gall bladder out (so 7 incisions !!) on Wednesday morning. Felt lousy when I came round (gas / burning sensation) at 10am but used pain meds ( morphine). Morphine made me nauseous so stopped pain meds after first few hours and haven't needed pain meds since. Day three and I'm getting 1 liter of liquids and some Protein shake in. Only physical issue is that I'm lethargic as no food, have a rumbling tummy and boyfriend is cooking bacon which I'd really like!!. I'm told these hunger pangs pass. Oh yes and went to cinema yesterday. So really not too bad so far. Hang in there and hoping you have an easy time as i am. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
