Thanks, I hope you are more excited that nervous! I think having the surgery before the holidays is beneficial. Because there is no way you will be wanting those goodies post surg! I had mine right before Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas. And I'm glad! Best of luck to you for a smooth day tomorrow and easy recovery!

Food Aversions
This is pretty much what I do. On those days I drink Protein shakes and nibble on cheese. I've had days where absolutely nothing sounds good.

Stomach Sleeper
I was able to sleep on my stomach at about 4-5 days post op. It will depend on how you are feeling pain wise.

Husband says he doesn't like skinny women...WTH!
The goal of WLS is not to be skinny. It is to be healthy. Does he like healthy women?

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
Hi @@jellybean12 Welcome! Similar to you, I had the the same stall then dropped a few. I also am mid-190s now. I have felt that empty feeling, but usually only in the wee early mornings. I think some of it is acid. I drink tea or coffee and to goes away. Hip bones, nice NSV!

I'm 5'3". My surgery weight was 219 on October 3rd. (I was 238 when I started my pre-op diet Sept 19). October Sleevers, how are you doing?
Have you tried baking the Quest bars yet? You cut them into eight pieces and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. They taste pretty good for a change of pace. Like Cookies without the damage. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Great idea! I really like Quest bars but I love the idea of making 'cookies' from them!

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
Congrats on your success so far!! Thats great! I haven't tried bananas yet. That does not sound pleasant! Getting Fluid in for me can be a challenge also. I haven't been getting mine in lately.

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
@@LittleBill I will have to try the brined chicken. I love roasting whole chickens, I used to do that quite a bit. I have been eating some Quest bars. I went online and bought about 10 of them, in all different flavors which was fun. I discovered that love the lemon ones, chocolate cookie dough, and the Peanut Butter chocolate ones. The blueberry ones are pretty good with some hot tea or coffee! Your chili sounds good. I love a good chili! I live in El Paso so there is plenty of green or red chili and lots of chili fixings!

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
@@LittleBill, Great to hear! As for your "regular foods", what are you eating? I'm having a hard time these days, feeling some pain with eating anything other that soft stuff. Way to go on your success, and on the mile walk!!

Bcbs federal
I have the same insurance. It went really smoothly. I had the same requirements, and once they were completed the auth process took just 10 days, and no denials. Good luck!

Hungry! I week post op
When I was pre-op and then just after surgery I was mistaken in believing that the hunger hormone would be gone from the moment of surgery and on. Boy was that wrong. I have learned since then that it is actually quite common to have hunger after surgery. Some of it is head hunger, some of it is legit hunger. When on just liquids its no wonder. I can say though now 8 weeks later your hunger will subside. Having "real" foods and soft foods really helps. At about 3-4 weeks my hunger literally just went away. I only feel hunger now when fuel is truly necessary. And am satisfied by a few bites of high Protein. So, it gets way better.

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
Yes, I have the same issues with meat. Unfortunately it has gotten worse now than it was a month ago. I sort of avoid meat, I wish it was easier. I used to love red meat, now I am struggling with it. I struggle with chicken and fish if overcooked also. Cottage cheese seems to be my saving grace these days.

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
I try not to compare my weight loss with the pace of others but I know how you feel. Sounds like you are doing great though! Going out to restaurants for me is fun but a bit frustrating. Everything always looks so good, but I can literally still only eat maybe two bites. My husband is enjoying having most of my plate, lol.

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
Stalls are frustrating but since you are losing sizes you can see your body is changing! I have gone through a couple stall already and what I find is when they are over I have lost a few inches. Great feeling. My work is the same when I do go into the office. We have a Christmas party coming and a potluck in two weeks. I will take it as a challenge to make something healthy, hearty, and yummy!

October Sleevers, how are you doing?
Congratulations on your success! It is so fun to go through the closet and rediscover smaller clothes, isn't it? I'm happy to hear Thanksgiving went good for you. Like you, I did pretty good, but DANG did I miss the rolls too! But I satisfied my carbo craving with a few pieces of Chex mix. Naughty food but only had a few. And ohhh were they good.

Way to go! You're really doing well. Isn't the increased energy wonderful? Good luck on your 5k. I am in awe of you for doing that. At this point I only run when chased, but I aspire to get into running shape!
