  1. I have my psych eval tomorrow and am so nervous. I am below goal right now...I guess if I pass tomorrow I should move on to the case manager. Getting nervous/excited. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Congrats @@kc13! I hope to be right behind you. I'm below goal weight - just waiting on psych clearance next week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I'm not post op yet but based on our book if you blend it you could try it. You have to be close to stage 3 now right Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Are you on stage II or III? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. @ glamam it ended up being ~15 lbs. I had lost 9.5 between orientation and meeting (10 days between the two) and he said 5 more lbs Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Thanks @@perspectiveiseverything Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. @@perspectiveiseverything did they give you an abdominal binder after surgery? I had one after my last c-section and it was night and day from my prior 3 having one. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm going through Richmond and the only choices were sleeve or RNY. No mention of DS. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Congrats on being scheduled! I hope to be right behind you. I've been pleased with how smoothly the kaiser Richmond process has been (assuming you do your part with the weight loss) . Keep us posted!
  9. @@Glamam me too! The process seems to be going really fast. My orientation was 10/20. Met with surgeon and am already within 2 lbs of goal. Just called and go my psych appointment for 11/22. I imagine if all goes well I'm looking at December/January surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Welcome! Glad to see some locals! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I was planning on going last night but couldn't find anyone to watch the kids. Dr Baggs will be happy that you went. That's one of the questions he asked. I was worried he was going to ask to lose a large amount. Since the hubs and I have lost about 10 since our orientation he said 5 more pounds. I am 1 pound away from the goal now so I'm really anxious to get an appt with dr z. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Be prepared mentally to start your pre op diet right away. They look to see if you've lost weight between orientation and your next appointment and I think that has a huge part in the goal the surgeon sets for you. He was very happy with what I lost between orientation and my appt with him. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Labs and such you can do at your local kaiser. Vacaville kaiser has a bariatric support group as well (they strongly recommend you attend at least 1). But you have to go to Richmond for your orientation, surgeon spots, psych appt, case manager appt and any additional appoints they may require based on the above appointments. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I had my appt with dr baggs yesterday. I am less than 5 lbs from my goal weight but the psych spots are booked through November. I have to call on Friday for an appointment in December or to see if they've had any cancellations. Crazy they have 4 surgeons but only one psych and case manager. 15. @@necarv yeah now that he is on board it's much easier. I lost a ton of weight last year and gained it all all back. Slipped back into old habits with him. I actually think if he has his surgery first I will continue to lose weight without it. You can do it. Keep your eye on the prize. Now you are just burning 1/7th of a pound each workout alone. I've been journaling which is helping. I write down when I think I'm hungry instead of grabbing something to eat. It's helping for now. I've never heard of Orangetheory - where's that at? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. @@necarv it's going. Trying to find ways to keep food interesting and not have to cook separate stuff for the kids. Thankfully my hubby and I are going through this process together so we can encourage each other. I have some friends who went through the Richmond process this year and had their surgery and told me they used the pre-op diet as a guide, modified it to fit their lifestyle and both lost a lot of weight pre surgery and pretty fast. I've been doing intermittent fasting to help. So I try to eat between 11 & 7 and that helps. I haven't given up my coffee yet. On the bright side I've already lost 6 pounds. What kind of workouts do you do? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. @@bubbz333 I had my orientation last week - lots of information. Be prepared they want you to hit the ground running with the pre-op diet...like walking out ready to go from that moment on. The pre op diet is at least food, albeit limited quantities. Very adamant about Protein first. So if you like veggies in your eggs or want to make a protein style sandwich you're outta luck. I have my appt with dr baggs on 11/1. Hoping that I don't have too crazy of a weight loss goal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I have Kaiser NorCal and I work for a big Bank that only offers co insurance plans. I enrolled in the best one they offer and I have to pay $2000 which is my individual out of pocket max. We used to have the $250 copay with my hubs Company but they no longer offer Kaiser. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. No. I understand what you mean. I feel like I have to return the favor and he won't be so quick to try and do it himself. Plus I don't like being taken care of. I like to be self sufficient and think if i can manage then he can too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I would ask your seamstress what's the shortest time around she can meet prior to the wedding. I believe I needed two weeks with my dress. The last wedding I was in they gave me until the week before the wedding for final measurements. I had just had a baby. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. @@SweetPotato 165 lbs in 1 year. Amazing! I hope to follow your footsteps? How did your skin hold up? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Thank you @@SweetPotato & @kc13. I can't wait until next week to officially be on my way with the process. This 6 week wait for the orientation has been nerve racking. Hoping the process moves fast as long as I do my part. Is there a pre-op liquid diet with Kaiser Richmond? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. 10/10 weigh in 309 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Thanks @kc13. I'm so ready to get the process going. I lost a lot of weight about 1.5 years ago and weighed everything I put in my mouth. My family thought I was being obsessive but when I stopped doing it I started gaining it back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm going through Richmond Kaiser too. Don't have that 4 hour class until next week. I have 4 family members that have had RNY. They all have horrible deficiencies with Iron and b12 and that's with taking Vitamins. My dad almost died from a blockage that was caused by the re-routing. I never was a fan of bypass. How does the process work? I've haven't been able to find out much information on how the process works or how long it takes. I really would like it done this year for financial reasons.
