  1. Yes, Fenton, we are all here for any kind of support ot ass kicking you may want or need. I can't believe you have gone this far without a fill, time to get to the DR and get one. and going to Paris, I am envious
  2. had my MRI this morning....now back to the DR. I will go to water serobics tonight and hopefully not aggravate the situation. Still feeling great otherwise, go to see about fill #3 tomorrow and about this new hernia that has cropped up. UGH. I want to feel 100%, not have new ailments show up!!
  3. sounds like a trip to a new DR is in order. I cannot see having been banded for this length of time and trouble with weight loss
  4. same for me Har;ey, in fact tomorrow I go for an MRI on my knee. It buckled on me a few times when I am walking and then the discomfort and pain follows for a few days. Dr. told me to continue my Water aerobics and walking, but not to push myself too much, until we know what the issue may or may not be. I complained. Here I lose weight and try to get into some sort of shape and I feel like I am falling apart!! But, the weight is still coming off, slower than the first 4 months, but still going down! possible fill on Friday
  5. Not totally sure what the sweet spot will feel like. right now I am doing pretty good, but think a little mjore restriction will be the key. I go to the DR this friday and am asking her how much fill is in my band, I know it is a 14cc, and think there is about 5 or6 cc in it, but not sure. so am interested in finding out how much is actually there. I kjnow that no matter what size band you have, everyone is different as to where their sweet spot is. going out tonight with the girls. dinner and a movie chinese and "Mama Mia", looking forward to a fun evening
  6. YES, after surgery and repair of a very large hiatal hernia, I now have a new one hernia, on the rigfht side, about waist hieght. Not all that big, but totally annoying. I see my lapband DR on Friday for a possible fill and my PCP wants me to discuss this with her. Thinks that it possibly is a result of the straining to get yup and down after surgery!! but who knows. I'll know more on Friday/ Such fun :cool2:
  7. glad you are feeling better and back on track. WOW, vacation to alaska... I am envious..
  8. wow you look fantastic WTG
  9. toot your horn yippee for twoteville
  10. YES, this is the best thing I have done for myself, too... I feel great, love getting the compliments on my weight loss and buying new clothes. but especially, I know I did this for me and not for anyone else. And even my PCP that was not in favor of me getting the surgery has become a big supported
  11. I tried to have the low cal, low fat ice creams in the house, but founf myself going for more than 1 a night. so no more will it come into my house. So far it is the only thing that I can be truly tempted by, I did try a small piece of thin crust pizza tonight, it didn't get stuck but felt really uncomfortable. scheduled for a fill on Friday. may end up being just a small. Also, have to discuss this new hernia that i have developed since surgery.. Glad to see you are still here Janet. we are all extrememly busy lately. and there are so many posts to read when we miss a day or two of being here.
  12. Congratulations Special K!!!!! WTG Fenton - picked up your book today... can't wait to get started on it. Glad to see everyone doing so well, and to those who are struggling it will get better
  13. GOOD LUCK all the best
  14. Lisa, that salad tonight was 608 calories, 16gms protein, but then I didn't have that much of the salad dressing , so i figure the calorie count is much less than the 608... my knee is stiff, but am icing it down. Glad to see everyone advancing in heir journey.
  15. that is great news, mscathyl. He will be taking steps soon. tell him we are all praying for a speedy advancement in his recovery
  16. I have realized I like to give myself incentives, with every 10# I treat myself. Sorry Fenton, but my last treat was new "sexy" undies. Never thought I would get excited about buying underwear Good-bye to the granny panties  Still getting my walking in. even with the heat and humidity, I am heading to the mall and walking in the cool air.... My fellow band friend and I go out dancing on Friday nights too. It is so much fun and I truly enjoy getitng sdressed in attractive outfits and heading out in public, as well as getting in that exercise while dancing... Waiting to see about surgery for a hernia....hope I can put it off for awhile... the annoyance of the discomfort is the worse thing about it..... Take care, keep coll
  17. No running for me, I don't think my knee would survive. I do get in plenty of walking, usually 5 times a week. I actually lost weight on vacation yippee!!!!!! What a surprise. I am going to consider that a definite victory. Good luck with a fill today Hope. I am back to Dr. Wynn on 8/8 and not sure if a fill is needed, but have to discuss the issue of another hernia... Now I though getting into better health was going to alleviate all these issues, knee acting up and hernioa.. I can be grateful that I am not having any issues with hair loss. Take care all Enjoy the middle of the week
  18. I eat mainly protein, then some veggies, maybe 75% and 25% I stay away from as much carbohydrate as possible, no bread, pasta and rice. I found out I cannot eat long grain, wild rice. I do eat crackers, but only a few at a time. I have some of the protein bullets but have not tried them yet. AS well as your body only absorbing so much protein at one time the same thing goes for calcium. I take 2 60mg calcium tablets daily, but 1 in the AM and one in the PM. Congrats to the newly banded and good luck to those heading to surgery..
  19. Boredom is the pits. It s tough to keep on track if you are a snacker when bored. I keep myself busy with walking and being on lkine. I enjoy the LBT chat room. Fun and interesting and sometimes you get good info from other. I have aso begun reading again. It relaxes me and is fun also. Guess we have to find what is best for our own self to batle boredom
  20. woohoo.... just got back from my pcp's office. down 2.5# since my last fill. which is good since I gained about 2#after my fill before leaving on vacation. So I guess I did better than I thought while out of town. And I am really feeling my restriction from the fill on 7/10. before now it really didn't seem like it was doing anything.
  21. Fenton - welcome back. Vacati0on is a time to watch what we eat, but also have a good time. I think all of us that have been on a vacation recently, post banding, have realized the struggle that goes alone with the band and vacation. I did order your book this weekend, and saw it will be out in paperback in November. Hopefully you got the info you needed while in Naples and enjoyed the time there. You did actually get a chance to do some writing, correct I weigh ion tonight so will se the damage ihave from my vacationlast week
  22. the coffee mugs with the lids are great. besides holding larger quantities than a sippy cup, they look so much more adult. Except for the one I have that has the 7 dwarfs on it, but it is black and just outlines of the characters LOL I am back on track.. and feeling better, realize my band is actually working. had really moist tuna with crackers for lunch and only was able to eat about 75% of the total amount that I had prepared. So feeling good that I felt restriction....I weigh at my pcp this evening and am anxious to see how I faired over my vacation last week.
  23. I have been trying to go back to liquids this weekend. It was the only way I could get myself back on track after vacation. I have had a few "foods", but nothing much, all sofy or mushy. THink I am back to where I should be mentally to keep on the right path. The true test will be when I weigh myself on Weds., my usualy weigh day. Getting back to my exerecise too. walking this morning and it was soooo hot and humid. But felt great to be out for the morning walk.
  24. I was told 30 minutes before and after meals for drinking water. And find that tough to deal with. Bur always have a glass of ice water on my desk at work so drink whenever I can Try not to guzzle, it may cause some burping and the water may come back up. It has happened to me a few times
  25. Good luck to all having surgery this week Things to have ready at home Gas-X Heating pad - this helps elleviate some of the discomfort from gas. pillow - to hold on stomach if you cough I slept sitting up for the first few days at home. getting up out of bed was painful. I was off work for 3 weeks. My doctor said minimum of 2 weeks. I stayed over night and most of the next day. I was unable to pee and they would not let me leave until I did. But the e ntire stay was covered by insurance So much reading since last night!!! Hopefully all of us are being helpful to others and answering questions, but remember every doctor has their own routine and requirements for post surgery plans, so listen to your DR and follow their guidelines.
