  1. I went to St. Vincent in Cleveland. They had my insurance approved within a few days. Their advocate Maria is awesome and the staff! Dr. Nowak performed my surgery 9/26. I have no complications and my scars are almost non-existent. Down 115 lbs.
  2. I loved using baby spoons to eat, sippy cups, small 2-3 oz. containers, stretchy pants and a good pair of sneakers for all the walking [emoji5]

  7. Be honest with your doctors, if you're in pain or not meeting expectations you had prior to surgery.. tell them. They can help you. Don't suffer alone, it could be so much worse for you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I went to my surgeons office every two weeks after surgery until 6 weeks out.. then we go every 3 months. Until 1 year out. I have also visited my PCP twice since my surgery (3 months ago)for follow up. Your PCP knows you best and should be able to assist you with most things, but I also believe Bariatric offices around you should be willing to see you. It's no different than someone moving after surgery.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I spent 2 days in hospital on Lovenox. Sent home without, not a single problem! Some people just aren't as much of a risk. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I had one, placed after being out. While I was waking up in recovery I told her I had to pee and she said "Go ahead, you have a catheter in" I had no idea, they pulled it out after I told them I couldn't go Didn't feel anything. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. It gets a little better every 8 hours. I didn't have a great time at the hospital, and even the week following surgery. Keep in mind your taking your body, which is mostly healthy, and abruptly creating a problem to heal. Your body will be confused. Just take it 8 hours at a time. 19. I had hiccups constantly after surgery on Monday, they finally subsided mostly once I got home. They would even cause me to throw up spit until yesterday. It mostly goes away once you're sipping, walking, breathing at home. It's all just gas. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
