  1. I got to have tomatoes at week 3 and lettuce week 5. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. So are you vets still using Protein powder/shakes as a supplement or do I get to do away with the god awful stuff someone in the future? I know I cannot now because I cannot eat enough to even think about getting any amount of protein in my body. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I don't know why people stay with such degrading and unsupportive men. Idk if their confidence is in the dirt or what. But if your SO loves you, truly loves you, they will support you for trying to get healthy and happy! It infuriates me to see how some men treat women. I have to brag on mine, he packed on a few lbs in our 16 years of bliss so he went on the diet with me. He didn't get sleeved but had cheered me on and kept me motivated from day one! He has lost 20 lbs himself. That's all he needed to lose so he is done but will not stop rooting me on from the sideline. I think maybe these men have self esteem in the dirt and think that when their ladies get that sexy bod back, that other men are gonna be picking up on them. Idk. But it's so ignorant. 4. A friend of mine for pregnant a year after and had many malnutrition issues during the pregnancy and had several complications but the baby is healthy and happy now. She ended up being tube fed during the last portion of her pregnancy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Surgery date 8/16/16 (5 weeks and 3 days ago) HW 247 SW 240 CW 219 Goal 150 Down 28lbs total but only 21lbs since surgery. I've been stuck at 219 for a week. Feeling very discouraged like it stopped working already! lol I know it's ridiculous but, I want a miracle damn it! I work 12 hour days at a desk, then 3 hours of commute time and then sleep when I'm not working, leaving little time for activity. I think this is having a negative impact on my weight loss. Also, I'm hungry-OFTEN! I still don't eat much at all during a sitting but within 2 hours, I'm ready to eat again. Seems like y'all are doing GREAT! love seeing the success stories. 6. I wouldn't say I've stalled because a stall is more than a few days long. I've done days without losing. I was hospitalized and given fluids for several days gaining 9lbs of water weight and didn't lose for nearly a week after that. I've just been slow. Started out losing like a bat outta hell the first week but it slowed. I'm ok with it but also slightly discouraged. I need to stay off the scale. I have a bad habit of stepping on it every time I go in the bathroom. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Ok. We are about in the same boat. (My boat is a few lbs heavier) be patient. If you are following the plan, there is no way you won't lose a significant amount of weight. <---my doctor and NUT's words. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. What is your preop weight. People who have a lower bmi tend to lose slower. This was my doctors response to me when i asked why I had only lost 20lbs in a month. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Told mine I was having hernia surgery. Not a lie......just not the entire truth. Didn't even tell my boss. I don't want to risk a gossip leak. (U can't trust anyone with juicy gossip) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I take Walmart brand gummy multi Vitamins. Doc said that he has no issues with me taking them because my labs are fine and have been since surgery. They taste just like fruit Snacks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I forgot the original post said 3 weeks out. I'm farther than that. At 3 weeks I couldn't have anything on this plate. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. Turns out, you CAN have a taco. Lunch today and it was delish......ground turkey with low sodium taco seasoning, fat free ranch, lettuce, low fat cheddar, jalapeños, and salsa. (I'm picky so I didn't add much) should have left the jalapeños off because man I really wanted something to drink! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. I ordered it online. It was $30 for a container of it. Well worth it! It saved my butt. I'm sure you can get unflavored at GNC or something as well. But genepro is formulated for post WLS patients from what I understand. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Oh and the only Protein bar I can tolerate is the Luna bars. They are delicious. The blueberry is to die for. However, they are only 9g of protein and in trying to avoid carbs. But if I have a sweet tooth then I will eat half of one. They are designed specifically for women. They are low fat, low cal, and not high in carbs. But I try to stay away from carbs completely as I know they are hidden in some of the fruits and veggies I eat and I'm sure I get enough carbs with them hidden mother suckers. 18. I bought some unflavored protein. Gene pro is 30g of protein per tablespoon and I mix it with 1 shot of my choice of beverage. Hold my nose and throw it back like I'm taking a good ol shot of tequila. I do this 3 times a day which equals 90g of protein plus whatever protein I'm taking in from food. This is the only way I can reach my goal because I cannot do the shakes. I tried and tried and they go down like broken glass. They are terrible. Which before surgery I had no problem with them. After surgery--no way Jose. I know this is repeating my original post but I wasn't sure if you seen it. Try it, it turned everything around for me. More energy, more weight loss, etc. liquid? I have no problem with bc I am always thirsty. Love my G2 Gatorade or water with lemon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Even though the statement wasn't directed at me, Thank you, you are so right. I needed to hear that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Everyone's NUT has different suggested diets. Mine says that we ARE allowed full fat ranch, mayo, cheese etc etc since we only eat a few bites at a meal anyway. I however, choose to eat low fat, low carb. I will NOT let myself become overweight again once my goal is reached. Many people are denied this surgery and I appreciate so much that I wasn't. So I will not sabotage myself for a few minutes of satisfaction followed by hours of guilt and possible weight gain. I am taking advantage of the lack of hunger and not listening to my head. Head hunger is the worst. Meal prepping has been a life saver so there are no last minute changes in what I plan to eat. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Does that not make you feel ill? I've tried that and my tummy was MAD. How far out are you? I'm also struggling with protein, and liquids in general.I fully expected it to come right back up since my stomach is so weak lately but I tolerated it very well. I am one month out today. Liquids were an issue for me for a while but now I have no problem getting in my fluids. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Tried that.....still terrible Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I couldn't for a while but now I can take bigger drinks. Preop I could drink the shakes and was fine with them. It's like my taste buds changed completely after surgery! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
