I found a way to get my protein in! Yay!
Ok so I was struggling. I mean really struggling with getting my Protein because i cannot do the shakes. Make me vomit every time. So I ordered gene pro unflavored and tried adding it to drinks, foods etc and still couldn't do it. I could still taste it. So today I had a genius idea. (Not really genius but it is to me ) I mixed the gene pro with one small shot of a beverage of my liking. I used horchata (not the alcohol horchata). Mixed my gene pro in, held my nose and got my 30 grams of protein with one throw back of the shot glass! Didn't even taste it. So I will do that twice more today and be beyond my protein requirements. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

3wks out tacos?
My plan allows light mayo and Refried beans Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Mine does too. Ground meat is also allowed starting the 3rd week. Add those two together with a bit of shredded cheese on top and I'd call that a taco (without the shell). Same, I never liked a bunch of crap on a taco anyway. Tomato, ground turkey, taco seasoning, green onion, fat free refried beans and a little salsa. Yummy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I did not want food. Didn't even want liquids for weeks after surgery. I had to force sips of Water. I can't imagine wanting to stop on the way home from the hospital Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

That's scary!! I wonder what happens to people who eat pizza or a burger the day after. Their stomach is gone - so how do they get back straight? I know it's horribly dangerous. Wonder what their final outcomes are. People actually attempt pizza and burgers!!!!??? I would kill for just the toppings off a slice of pizza but I know better Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Literally my doc told me a story of a lady that ate a pork chop 1 week post op and it almost KILLED HER! not killed her pain wise. It literally almost killed her. It scares me enough to follow my plan! Glad everything worked out for you. Not following their recommendations could be catastrophic Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How long before you could go back to work? (desk job/non physical)
You should have no problem then. I work 12 hr shifts and my boss has me on desk duty for 6 weeks. I went back after 1 week. I was fine with work. Few post op complications but had nothing to do with work Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No drinking with meals?
My doc said our "pouches" cannot be stretched because the elastic portion of the stomach had been removed. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App If you couldn't stretch your stomach then why would they have sleeve revision surgery? Is VERY possible to stretch your new sleeve or pouch out. That's a huge reason some have issues with weight regain after a few months post op WLS Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App Well I'm not trying to start a debate. Im just saying what my doc said and what I've seen many many times on this site and online. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I was sleeved yesterday. How are other's doing?
Thanks, and believe me, I am starving, which is probably why I am not losing weight. I hate every single food on my list right now. Right now I just hate everything- I hate feeling sore, I hate the time I have taken away from my young son because I have been recovering. When I think about how I let a surgeon take 85% of my stomach out, I want to throw up. It seems so barbaric. I wish I had tried harder to lose this weight on my own or love myself no matter what what size. I wish I could rewind time and cancel my surgery. Plus my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer recently and I just couldn't have done this at a worse time. I'm really struggling. Just think when your son is older you can be more active and be healthy for him. Try not to focus on all the negatives at this time and think about long term. You will get there. Sorry about your mom. That's tough. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No drinking with meals?
Thank you! Sometimes it helps to know why something is important. If your NUT doesn't tell you why something is important, it's hard not to justify reasons for not following the rules. I appreciate the feedback. I will not be giving in to the urge Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

3 week stall?
I'm at 3 weeks and 2 days. I've lost 17 lbs in those 3 weeks, consistently losing around a lb a day. However the last 3 days I've stayed the same and even went up a pound. I've read of this 3 week stall and am terrified that my body is gonna stop losing weight. I'm gaining confidence by the day but would hate to stay like this. I know this forum is flooded with people needing reassurance but dang. I'm frustrated already. Ps, I finally feel normal post op-no pain and energy is back. Yay!! Protein ISSUES
I'm still having trouble meeting my Protein requirements. I am 3 weeks and 2 days post op and am steady losing weight but I'm not getting my required protein. I cannot cannot cannot do the shakes. They come right back up and Unflavored protein is NOT unflavored. I am trying to eat protein rich foods but am not eating a portion size big enough to amount to anything. So my question is, the protein requirement, does it promote and enhance weight loss or is it just something we are suppose to have nutritional wise? I wish I had a more supportive NUT like I've seen some people in the forum have so I could ask these questions. Mine strictly communicates through email and it takes days for a response IF she decides to respond. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
