  1. Oh I will definitely be on here keeping everyone up to date- I also have a blog so feel free to check in and when I started the process I did the math on how long it would take me to get everything done and DECIDED I without a doubt WILL get my surgery in September and even tho the nurse doubted my ability make it happen- I did it! So dont ever give up it will be hard but it is most definitely worth it!!! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
  2. I dont have any tips for you- I am not diabetic - but I am super excited to see another person that has my same date for RNY- I am having my RNY at University Hospitals in Chardon, Ohio but thought I would say hi and congrats to a new surgery day buddy
  3. So I am having Gastric Bypass on the 21st... Yay 16 more days!!! So here is the big one- I have an appointment with my primary Dr on Saturday to go on birth control - I have been using natural family planning with success for 2 years now but I know that after surgery I will have a huge fertility boost and I dont want to risk a pregnancy... Soooo I know the pill is not a super great option due to absorption issues- but what birth control have you all tried? I was thinking of the depo prevara because I have had success in the past with it- but I also gained weight on it and I am worried about using a birth control that could be counter productive. Have any of you had any success with the depo? What birth controls would you recommend?
  4. I also already replaced Breakfast the Premier Protein Shake, and have been weighing my meals for a while now too.
  5. 21 DAYS UNTIL SURGERY WOOT WOOT! YAY ME! So I am starting a few habits early- I already got my water intake up to 124 ounces- made that a habit and have been at if for weeks already. But today I am starting the 30-30-30 rule- maybe if I spend the next couple of weeks doing it it will be easier after surgery... What other things did y'all start BEFORE surgery to help get you in the groove of things?
  6. Have to say I was super happy to see this because I actually gained a little weight and then lost some of what I gained and even with diet and exercise and weight loss meds I lost nothing... Its good to see that even under similar circumstances it DOES work
  7. I have used crystal light like crazy- I would just recommend staying away from the caffiene versions now since you wont be able to have them later. I also have 4 water bottles- all 32 ounces- that I fill before bed- I have gotten myself in the habit now of drinking them all before bed time the next day- I know I do not need 128 ounces of water a day- HOWEVER my train of thought is that if I trained myself and got into the habit of drinking that much water now then 64 ounces post op will be much easier. Now I drink water like its a bad habit- I also replaced smoking with taking drinks of water lol so double score on that one!

  9. I decided to start yoga in combination with walking/jogging, light cardio, and light weight lifting. Right now and until my surgeon clears me for more strenuous activites after my surgery I will only be doing yoga and walking

  11. That's what I am hoping for... I have one compression tank and hope to get a couple more before surgery day... Hope Your Day is Great, *Amber* The Starving Mom starvingmom.wordpress.com “I'm not telling you it's going to be easy - I'm telling you it's going to be worth it.” - Art Williams
  12. Ah... I was wondering if wearing it would help the skin "bounce back" after weight loss... after my csec I wore mine about 2 months and you could barely tell I had been pregnant aside from a small pooch, and some stretch marks... 13. Yes the one I used was actually the one my daughter got right after her C-Section. It worked wonderfully! Did it help at all with skin? 14. OK... Dr sent me a new vid to watch talking about open bypass and he has a hiatal hernia, 2 incisional, and 1 umbilical hernia plus a mesh to remove... he had said possibly laprascopic but I think he's decided on open lol... still have 2 more weeks before I find out...
