  1. Thanks for the positive suggestions and encouragement ladies. I knew going into this wasn't going to be easy and I'm definitely not giving up. 2. Hi all. I was a band to sleeve conversion on 9/12. I am feeling great. Didn't feel much pain at all post surgery. The only issue I felt on day 2 and 3 was discomfort in my chest and shoulders from the gas. I notice that a lot of people on this site have completely different instructions than what my surgeon uses. Example, the first 4 weeks post op is strictly hydration period and working on getting clear fluids into my body. I see others who are 1 week post op talking about already eating puréed foods. Is there anybody on the same regimen as me and if so, are you hungry at all? Actually I'm not really hungry I'm just having mad cravings for solid food. Any suggestions? 5. Yea I feel the gas pains in my stomach and up until last night my shoulder and neck had horrible gas pains in it! I actually thought it was a pulled muscle from surgery or something. I'm gonna try those gas strips too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I feel you. The gas pains in my chest and shoulders woke me up. I have been using a heating pad on my left shoulder on and off and it does give me a little relief. If you have a heating pad, maybe give that a try and see if it helps. 6. Yes I also had slight discomfort but the gas is what's really bugging. I've been up and walking as well with no problems. I'm actually going to go to the park today to walk and get some fresh air. My surgeon did several other repairs on me since I had a slipped band that did a little damage. (Feels good to have that band removed) He also fixed my hiatal hernia and took care of some scar tissue. Overall, I'm excited to begin my new life. Thanks for the reply and best wishes to you on your journey. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Laney, that's sounds about the same as me. Since you are ahead of me by a few weeks, I'm wondering if you felt sharp pains in your sternum and shoulders? I'm pretty sure these are gas pains but thought I would throw it out there to see if you had this issue. If so, about how long did it last? A couple weeks? 9. I'm definitely not getting many calories and other than a little discomfort, I feel great. The only issue I'm feeling is bad gas pains. I have medication that the doctor prescribed me for gas, but I read where other people who had the sleeve are using Gas-X thin strips. They dissolve on your tongue. I haven't tried those yet, but may have to try tomorrow. Hopefully it will relieve this gas pressure. I was a band to sleeve conversion. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Hi. I am also two days post op. I haven't had any Protein yet. My surgeon instructed me to only drink Clear Liquids the first few days. This is what he calls the hydration stage. Your body needs hydration more than protein in the early post op stage. I've been drinking crystal light, G2, plain Water, clear low sodium chicken broth. I am doing fine so far and not feeling hungry at all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
