  1. I guess I would rather mourn food that have my family prematurely mourn me.
  2. My surgery is the 23rd of April at OCC with Dr. Ortiz in Tiajuana. I am flying from Florida, with one layover each way, so I want to carry as little with me as possible. I will be there for an entire week, and so clothing space will be the premium. Other than basic toiletries, I am taking my kindle and some dvd's. (I checked and the Marriot has those in each room.) I am taking one rolling bag, so what fits is what goes, which means my laptop is a no-go. So, I would add to the list, for those who are traveling a long distance, dvd's. I might finally get through the whole first season of Game of Thrones. I have some heavy weight nightgowns from Catherine's, and I may go get at least one more, because I can use it as a dress on the way home. Start on all liquids tomorrow... we shall see what we see.. Paula Forgot to add that you can go to pixelofink.com and download tons of books for free.. about 8 a day are offered.
  3. What an amazing time to reflect on what your son's life would be like if YOU were the one mauled, (by obesity and related diseases.) You want to be there for him, so stay the course. My 27 year old daughter recently cried and asked me, "Mommy, don't you love us enough to get healthier so that you don't die before you have grandchildren?" OUCH! So, on the 23 of April I am having a revision surgery and changing from my lapband to a sleeve. Stay the course, stay the course.
  4. I always wanted to tell them, "No, It isn't an easy out, just like your learning to mind your own business isn't easy, either."
  5. Hey Christi, Orange Park, here... Fleming Island. Paula
  6. Okay, dang it, this is the third time I have tried to post this! Kelly, I live in the Fleming Island area, over by Hibernia. Maybe we can get together for a micro lunch! Paula
  7. I like the eas chocolate powdered Protein. I mix it with Hood's chocolate milk (no sugar, low fat.) It doesn't have the nasty thick consistancy of slimfast. You can also get it at Sams. I agree about thinning down the slimfast in a blender with ice cubes and a little flavoring. Gotta love that magic bullet
  8. If you can't find an American doctor to do the surgery, Dr. Ortiz in Tiajuana will do it. He is reasonable about stopping obesity before it becomes morbid.
  9. Woot! Thank you so very much! (I am assuming that you LOVE your doctor.) Paula
  10. I am on March 19th, too! I am going to Dr. Ortiz in Tiajuana, and I cannot wait. I have no second thoughts and no doubts. I have had the "This will probably be the last time I can eat this" blues, but they are little and healthy is big. I cannot wait! Or, is that "weight?" Paula
  11. Good luck on getting BC/BC FL to pay for anything. My husband works for them, and they stopped paying for bariatric surgerys 3 or 4 years ago.. period. I am curious if they pay for fills... Paula
  12. It would be helpful for those of us who used foreigh surgeons to know who will do fills locally/state. If you know of a doctor who will do fills, please list him/her. Thanks!
  13. Do ANY of your doctors do fills for patients from Mexico? I can drive an hour or 2 and go to FillCenters USA, but I would rather stay local. I am self-pay. Thanks for any info, Paula
