  3. Hi White sale. Thanks. Yea I spend more time on my hair now because I feel better about self but also because it is as really thinned out more. Hoping I stop losing hair more soon. I had a lot of really thick hair to start but has thinned so do spend more time on that. Dont normally wear makeup still that much but I have been if go out with friends more (plus cause single now). I don't have any on in my pics. I think it is all about making yourself feel good about new you inside (how healthy feel) & out (appearance). I find myself too spending more time picking out clothes to wear too because it is more fun now. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App

  6. I agree, hope you reconsider because you have helped a lot of people with your post. I have seen others posy about Mexico surgery on here. Do you think site got hacked or anything instead or maybe was just an error by someone? Not sure if can check with site to see if maybe mistake they still have it somewhere & can repost it (not sure how a forum) works ins & outs. I hope don't leave either -agree, enjoyed reading post. 7. Never hurts to ask anything on here, that is what we are is support for each other. I agree with high functioning fat man on all. Good luck with everything. You can check your list or with dr office, but one of things that helped me a lot too was sugar-free popsicles (box of grape, cherry & orange) but have to be ones that were 15 calories each. Helped because could feel like chewed something but was still ok cause popsicle is just frozen liquid so your good. Good luck with upcoming surgery. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App

  9. It seems to me that honesty is one thing and handing your soul over to a stranger whom you have no way of knowing that you'd want to know, is another. Your surgery is part of who you are, agreed, but it has no bearing on someone who isn't close. Also consider that you may hope that your constant awareness of having had surgery eventually recedes (not evaporates) when you've maintained for a good spell. It will have become something you did, notthat what you are. No way am I saying never to tell, only that it's something I think is more appropriately shared when it's clear that you and the man become increasingly interested in getting to know more about each other. Let it out when the conversation offers a natural opening. Even in relationships (of any sort) of years' duration, people learn new things about each other. Again, I'm not suggesting waiting years. Tell a date when there's a reason. As to having a man scream in horror and run from the restaurant, it's a definite possibility. While it's no an ego-boost, consider that he's not the one you're looking for. Just be sure he takes care of the check before he flees. Because the question of when to discuss surgery with a new person comes up often enough, I wonder how many people feel that they're making a confession instead of simply tossing surgery into the mix of life's ordinary goings-on. It sounds as though this doesn't apply to you. I hope so, because it's sad that some people think of revealing surgery as on a par with confessing their histories as axe murderers. Nervous is cool. Once older, never try to escape feeling 14 again. It's the ultimate in feeling free, excited and thoroughly blissful. ------------------------------------ @@Kindle! Thank you so much for reply. After reading it I agree with you & that I don't have to share until I know better & feel comfortable. Check comment gave me a good lol. Thanks so much & will enjoy the nervous excitement of dating when ready. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App
  10. Hi queenbee88. I don't know if you have costco in your state or not. I am in PA & Costco member & get my Protein shakes there (they usually are $24.99 for box of 18 -just got some on sale for $19.99). They are Premiere Protein Shakes -they are not real thick, 160 calories, 1 gram sugar, low fat & best thing is 30 grams of protein in one. I think they have good flavor. I have tried chocolate, vanilla & banana but have not tried the strawberry. I attached picture of one. I heard Walmart sells them also but not as cheap in price. Good luck with everything. 11. Hi all, I am going through divorce right now (I am on who posted ex leaving the 4 days after surgery before) & have question for future on dating? I have always been a very honest person -just who I am, part of personality. I have so many questions about post-op dating & want to know what others have done or what they feel about it please for help when I am ready (right now still have anxiety about getting back out there & if read my other post -understand why & thanks for support in helping me through a very hard time). Question(s) I have are : If going to join one of the online dating sites -do you write about your surgery in your profile? Do you wait to tell them on or after a first date -after they get to know you? I only ever have told one guy I dated before when heavier & recently reconnected as friends only. He thought I was beautiful before & understood why I had surgery for health reason & thinks still beautiful & it didn't bother him (if paths would ever cross in that way again & date) -has anyone ever talked to someone that once they told them they had surgery & could only eat a small amount not want to date them -especially like a dinner date? Anything else that you have experienced on dating post-op would be very helpful also. I really appreciate it. I had no clue that in 4 days post op I was going to come home to a note from husband that he left (but know truth about all & was blessing in disguise). I just am nervous about getting out in dating world again & I want to find a guy this time that believes in honesty & trust too. I want to be honest from beginning because me being a post-op sleeve patients is a part of who I am just like brown hair & hazel eyes. I just wanted to know when everyone has shared it with others dating because dating makes me nervous enough with being judged on appearance, opening up slowly & trusting again while dating someone. Thanks for any help offered. (Sorry if rambling some - still early in PA here). Have a great day all. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App
  12. I know that feeling...mine was a lot more complicated and not about cheating...but it was done and left me with virtually nothing. Sent from Larry's S7 Yea it is difficult going through recovery & divorce at same time. I uncovered a lot of stuff after he left. Posted to talk on here & got so much support that help me through it. I posted question on if spouse left after surgery to see how others dealt with things & got great support & pixie dust post help me too with question for future too. Hard enough dating in 40s again but plus after surgery too. Just taking it all one day at a time. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App Believe me...I know the feeling...We lost our 19 y/o son to cancer a little over a year ago. She gave up, and quit working...I wasn't making much money (Disney). So she decided to move back to her parents. We get along ok. But I'm doing good and much happier. I'm doing good physically, financially and mentally I'm getting there. I'm not a stud muffin, but I'm sure there's someone who is waiting for me to spend life with. Sent from Larry's S7 Sorry for your loss. Not an easy thing. I think there is someone for everyone. You are on a better path now sounds like - just keep staying focused on the positives, what I try to do also now. God bless. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App

  14. Thanks dash of pixie dust for bringing up this subject. I have been thinking about it also because my husband left me 4 days post op (blessing in disguise now I know after all he did behind my back), but when ready will get back out there dating & become intimate again. I have some lose skin but do like my body a lot better now & all of you have given me ideas when happens again someday to make myself more comfortable like with lingerie & lightening. It was really nice to hear from guys point of view also because in a woman's mind men are so attracted more visually & women more emotionally attracted. I believe that is also why I think women no matter how we look have more insecurities about our bodies. Thanks all for making me feel better about the possible future with a man again & will be ready when time is right. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App
  15. Thanks Hamoudi. I appreciate your words too. I think this app is amazing because it links all of us across USA & globe -all different walks of life but we all have something that joins us & support for each other. I know I posted my story when was going through hard time with husband left me 4 days after surgery (going through divorce now but know better off), but so much support on here got me through some hard times & just like your story & others the surgery has changed my life for better. I started out at 263 then surgery date 252 on 09/19/16 now weigh 194 so far & feeling great. Just realized probably only site women openly share weight on -lol. I as well am enjoying exercise a lot more. I took kickboxing years ago & have full size bag in house & hit it with rest of workout (great for personal stress of life too) but just last week able to do round house kicks for first time in many years. I finished nursing school past December & taking a prep class for state test down road. As told others thst gave me so much wonderful support -hoping to be a bariatric surgery recovery nurse down road & figure now what ever road God leads me will open up. Keep running laps around those guys. Lol. Keep me posted on updates too & you should be very proud of self - have done awesome job. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App

  17. Hi hamoudi, Congrats on reaching goal. Loved reading your story cause think we all have been there at sometime in life with being treated bad cause of our size & judged not for who we really were. So many people think it is ok to make fun of someone cause of size & it isn't especially if they could ever experience how it feels. It is very hard at times (only will be 4 months on 01/19), but agree with it. I started at 262, 252 on surgery day & Weigh 194 now. it is crazy health wise how much better you feel (I enjoy working out & doing stuff now -tried line dance lessons last night with friend for something different to do). The outer appearance is still odd for me cause lost fast first couple month & now slower hut still losing. Very strange to hear people say they didn't recognize me & sure you have heard the same. You are very handsome guy & wish you continued success & awesome 2017. Thank you for sharing your story. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App
  18. 20. Updated pic. Feeling good. Thanks all for so much support can't thank you enough. Studying for nclex nursing state exam to take test down road now. 23. Hi jacque2250. Honestly it was hard going through divorce through holidays. Not that I want him back at all, but just being alone was hard. I didn't do too bad over holidays , but have had few Cookies here & there but been exercising more too (took kickboxing class many years ago -have bag hanging in basement & have own gloves). I had started punching bag after found out about hidden life & has helped me with exercise & stress (& honestly - picture his face on bag sometimes too). This past week was first time I did round house kicks in like 6 yrs. Feeling great physically. I was feeling a little lonely over new years eve. Went to party with one of my friends we were only singles there but had some fun laughing with everyone. I did have 1/2 a beer on new years eve but that was it. I went online dating site too -liked talking but realized got anxiety about getting asked out & meeting someone. I realized my thoughts were right & not ready yet. It is scary for me to trust again after the amount of cheating but know will take time & will when ready. Physically doing great & everything else getting better each day. Lots of good support, even counselor said doing well. I did have a lot of good times over holidays with family too. I hope you had good holidays too. Thanks so much for checking on me. 25. Welcome Melissa Rose 24, think it is awesome you are talking to people before make decision too. It is a very personal one so comes down to what you want. You want to do it for yourself -nobody else. I had 2 miscarriages (my only 2 pregnancy but I was older at 39 & 40) & also gained weight after. I was 262 when started the program. I weighed around 252 when had surgery on 9/19/16. I am 194 today. It has been an adjustment for me to not drink with meals. I still do take a little sip or two sometimes but don't drink. Was big rea/water drinker before with meals. Other thing I have lost some of my hair -thinner now & this is a norm & people do get back to normal most I talked to but takes time. I had thick hair before. I know it may not be same when hair loss starts coming back. This is a norm for many to lose some from 3-5 months post-op. But for me really two biggest hurdles. For me the positives out way -I don't wake up with pain, I enjoy exercise - even walking feels so much better, so weird to hear from family & friends how different I look & really liking how I look for a long time, but looks is small for me compared to health benefits. Health has improved drastically. I get my labs later this month & very excited to see them. Good luck whatever you decide & God Bless. Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App
