Weight loss stall
I'm in the same exact position!Sleeved 3/27 and lost about 26lbs but now I'm stuck. Apparently there is a "3 week stall" that happens to a lot of people. I'm hoping it passes real soon.

14 Weeks Post Op - Multiple Stalls
Same thing is happening to me right now!! I'm exactly one month post op and in the last two weeks I've only lost one pound [emoji15] My weight stopped dropping right after I started my mushy food diet. I'm only eating 2oz 3x a day as per my dietitian. Hang in there! We're in this together [emoji4]

Getting BCBSIL approval
I had a similar experience! My doctors office told me that insurance required 6 mos of MSWL but I called to confirm and they don't require it. Just a BMI over 40 and psych eval. I also live in VA and employer is in Chicago. I was recently approved for surgery and the whole process took a couple of months. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

APPROVED! Yay!
My insurance approved me for surgery and I really didn't have that many requirements. They were BMI over 40 and a psych eval. I also had an endoscopy per my surgeon. Insurance approved so I'll be getting my surgery date soon! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App My insurance approved me for surgery and I really didn't have that many requirements. APPROVED! Yay!
Today I received the amazing news that I've been approved for the sleeve! Wahoooooo I'm so excited right now I'm also kinda freaking out because it's happening so quickly. I started seriously looking into this back in June/July. Of course I've been contemplating it for years but I'm still nervous. I know this will be the best decision I make but I also know that it won't be a walk in the park. Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Psych eval tomorrow! Scared.
I was worried about this too because of my history with anxiety and depression. Meeting with the psychologist was actually quite pleasant and the questions were relatively easy, it was more of a conversation. The second part was the online quiz that was sort of like a personality test if you've ever taken one of those. The one thing she told me she was looking for was consistency between the questions she asked and the online test questions. Just be honest and you'll be fine! Passed my psych eval
The appointment was really straight forward honestly. She mainly asked about my weight loss history, what diets I've tried, any current medical conditions, any mental health issues, any addictions to drugs or alcohol etc. I do have anxiety and depression and she said that was okay. Her advice was to make sure whatever I said during the meeting that I also put that on the test. The test was kind of like a personality test but you could easily identify the questions that would throw up red flags, like anything to do with suicide for example. I was worried about it but passed with flying colors. Just be honest and consistent and you'll be fine! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Passed my psych eval
I'm so pumped I found out I passed my psych eval today! I know I'm not a crazy person (most of the time) but I had no idea what to expect. Given my history with anxiety and depression I was a little worried at first. The behavioral therapist was very nice and we talked about my history with food etc. There were almost 200 questions on the actual test which I took online later at home. Next stop is submitting to insurance and then my EGD in two weeks! Hoping to get this done before the end of the year so I can start 2017 with a new outlook on life Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

BCBS requirements
Thank you for the information!!! I just got word from the doctors office that they will submit my paperwork to insurance after my psych eval in October! I think they're either confused or thought I wouldn't take it upon myself to check. Either way glad I got it straightened out. Thanks for the input! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone have BCBS of IL but live in Virginia?
Thanks everyone!!! I just called their office today and now they've changed their tune and said that after I have my psych eval they will submit to my insurance. Well, okay then! @OutsideMatchInside- I think you're spot on! Seems super sketchy and I'm sure it's just a ploy for more $$. Ugh makes me so upset because I'm going to a reputable surgeon, supposedly. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone have BCBS of IL but live in Virginia?
I posted on this topic a couple of days ago. Apologies for the duplicative post if you've already read it. So, I have BCBS of IL but currently reside in Virginia. My surgeons office told me that insurance requires 6 month MSWL. I spoke with BCBS of IL (twice) and they assured me that there is no 6 month MSWL requirement. I then spoke to the surgeons office again and told them what insurance told me and the response was "we have to follow the BCBS of Virginia guidelines". Ummm...what?! Why?! It makes no sense to me. I don't have BCBS of VA! Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm so annoyed with these people. Why would I have to follow VA guidelines when my insurance doesn't require it?! Sigh... BCBS requirements
I have BCBS of IL and like you said there are only two requirements, BMI over 40 and psych eval. But the surgeons office is claiming that I have to do a 6 month MSWL because I have to follow BCBS of VA's guidelines...since I live in VA...??? Makes no sense to me. I spoke with two different people at BCBS of IL and they assured me that I don't need to do the 6 month MSWL. So frustrated! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thought I had to do 6 month MSWL but apparently not?
Thanks and good luck!! I hope I can get this straightened out. Do you live in IL? I live in Virginia and the doctors office claims I have to go by the virginia guidelines... make no sense. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thought I had to do 6 month MSWL but apparently not?
That's awesome!! I'm still trying to figure it all out. Called the surgeons office today and the lady said something about the fact that even though my insurance doesn't require it, I have to follow the Virginia guidelines since the insurance is BCBS of IL. Idk, makes no sense to me! Then I called the insurance company again and they assured me no 6 month diet is required. I hope it turns out like your situation because I would love to have it soon Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thought I had to do 6 month MSWL but apparently not?
Thanks everyone!! I'm going to call the surgeons office tomorrow to confirm. I can't see why they would make me do the 6 month diet if it isn't required? I guess we will see! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
