So I just started on my 6 month MSWL program through my surgeons office. I called my insurance today just because I wanted to confirm that they cover the surgery and also to see what the conditions were for approval. The lady I spoke with said they do cover it and that there is no "time" requirement or amount of weight I need to lose. Hmmmm....that's interesting, and news to me! Glad I called to check. The insurance coordinator at the surgeons office previously told me it was REQUIRED by my insurance to do the 6 month program. But according to my insurance, that's not the case. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm happy but also super confused as to why they would tell me that? Super shady right? Any advice is welcome Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I haven't had wls yet but I meet with the surgeon at the end of this month. I'm looking forward to all the awkward comments and experiences that come my way! Honestly, I'll just be happy when random people or people who I used to know when I was thinner stop asking me if I'm pregnant or when I'm due. I'm not pregnant. Just fat! An old cheerleading teammate from high school saw me at Home Depot a couple of months ago and he was like "Wow, you are super pregnant!"
