Anyone with a low BMI (30-33) had sleeve surgery or will be?
My response wasn't specifically aimed at @pinkberry she made one statement that was not rude or defensive. I was referring to several forums that I've read that are very negative towards low BMI's to be clear. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone with a low BMI (30-33) had sleeve surgery or will be?
Not everyone that has a low BMI gets WLS because of the laziness of putting a "little effort" I had wls at a BMI of 32, this was because i completely screwed up my metabolism from having the band. I was a BMI of 23 and jumped to 32 in less than 12 months since having the band removed. Basically i can not eat above 800 calories without gaining. My exercise and diet remained the same, i did NOT gain from lack of effort. Please do not generalise without knowing peoples history or story, a blanket statement like that isn't useful to anyone. And as you say, being 200lbs, you lose with very little effort, this may be the case for you, but you will find that weight loss is slower the lower BMI one is. Better to do something about it sooner than later right? That's like us (low BMI'ers) saying "we don't understand how you can gain so much weight & take so long to do something about it". To be honest there's no reason for anyone to be 600pds... Sorry. Heavier people lose weight faster than we do actually that why there's drastic weight loss for them, the weight moves slower for low BMI's so we actually HAVE to work super hard. I don't understand why anyone on this site would be harsh toward anyone. We are all here because we made bad choices & want to be healthier. I don't see a purpose for dissension on a "support group". Cycles (LADIES)
Thanks for sharing. I have the copper as well. I've had it for a little over 3yrs. Initially the cycles were very long (10 days)and extremely heavy. However a few months ago it shortens to 7 days. Prior to having it implanted, my cycle averaged 5 days. Now w/ the surgery I guess all I can do is wait it out & see. I got on the scale today & have been carrying the same weight for 2 weeks but maybe this week I'm holding on to extra pounds due to my cycle. I surely hope so. Cycles (LADIES)
Hello! Wanted to receive some shared experiences from menstruating women. Have your cycles changed at all since surgery? I'm one month out & Mother Nature is on her 2nd day (or 3rd day) and the 1st day it was a bit of spotting here & there with some slight cramping (I've never had menstrual cramps the entire 18 years I've been menstruating) I'm not sure if that counts or was a warning that it was coming. Yesterday & today it's still very very light did anyone else experience this? I have an iud so my cycles are usually heavy so I'm a bit surprised & confused as to what's going on. Yes, I understand that my body just experienced a dramatic change but wanted to see if anyone else experienced this as well Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Cellulite, Stretch Marks & Other Unsightly's
Hi Sleevers! This post is largely for those of you who've reached goal & may have had stretch marks or cellulite prior to surgery. How has your body changed, has the cellulite disappeared... Stretch marks diminished? Please share your story and if possible before & after pics of "problem" areas. I'm a month post op & HATE my cellulite. I have it all over my legs. If they will vanish once I reach my goal (130) I'd be so ecstatic! I've always wanted to wear shorts but have never due to the sight of them. Please share! Thanks. Your body is going through a transformation. The prolong sickness may be a result of the surgery & your body trying to adjust. The human body is a tricky mechanism. Congrats on you loss & I wish you a speedy recovery! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Did anyone NOT have a miserable recovery?
I'm a month out and I had a smooth recovery. Everyone is different so you can't compare apples to oranges you know? It depends on your health going in & also your level of pain tolerance. I was sluggish after surgery due to the drugs. That evening however I was up & walking. The nurse encouraged me to walk about 50-100 ft & to rest when needed. I walked the entire of one side of the hallway. By the next day I covered both sides three times (in two different sessions). W/ the medication, the pain was bearable. The best I can explain it... It felt like I completed 500-1000 crunches. After about 4 days of being home, I didn't need the pain meds at all. No complications so far. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I want a sleeve revision will Kaiser cover it if my initial surgery was in Mexico?
How horrible! So sorry that this has happened to you. Based on the information about your health you seem qualified but not sure how that would work w/ the previous Mexico surgery. I recommend that you call bariatric surgeons within your town (or close) and explain your situation. They can give you the best advice & also as the previous person suggested, please do set up an appointment w/ a primary physician if you haven't done so. I'm sure you're due for blood work to make sure all of your levels are on target if you haven't been. Best of luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Any 7/14's- post op?
Oh I'm sure by now we've all experienced that pain lol. In my direct household no one needs the surgery but my sister and aunt live within the same household and they are considering going through my surgical team to have their surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You can have my husband... He's free, no charge lol. Hopefully that made you laugh a bit. I'm so sorry that you're going through this especially at this time. The truth is you're on a brand new road. A beautiful, healthy, thriving road & everyone can come/tag along w/ you... If he's chosen someone else that doesn't take away from your greatness it just means he wasn't able to meet you where you are & who knows maybe that's a great thing! When one door closes another opens & you may have that wonderful man you've always dreamed of. As far as the woman... Ugh I know it stings and its normal to point out the other person flaws but please just smile, nod & move on. Keep on your track & everything will fall into place perfectly for you. #hugs&support!
