I had the scope for the same reason.. heartburn off and on for atleast 6 months now. So I wanted to make sure everything was ok and maybe Dr. H. would see why the heartburn was'nt going away.

So I got a call from the office and they said I have H-Pylori :wink: ..which means I probably have an ulcer:mad2:..so I'm waiting now for the script to come in the mail so I can take whatever i'm supposed to take. In the mean time i'll peptobismal since thats suppose to kill H-Pylori too:blush: and then I have to go in for ANOTHER scope :eek:

Maria, You're doing really well! You will have times when your body will say: Hey what's going on here!??...and start trying to hold on to calories, but keep doing what you're doing and your body will slowly release its hold on those calories and you'll start losing again. :scared2:

Hi Everyone, There is a program through a company called Bariatric Advantage that is offering free Vitamins for patients who cannot afford to purchase them. The form will have to be filled out by the Surgeon or Nurse Practitioner. It sounds like really good program and I received the info from another Bariatric patient. I think he did do a biopsy but i'm not sure as I did'nt get to talk to him afterwards. He told my brother everything went ok. I'll know more when I see him my next visit. I think he's going to give me a fill ..not sure though. I feel pretty good.. throat still a little sore but I can still talk! lol I slept for a good while too.

Hi Vicki, I got it done! It was'nt bad at all!! The GI people were sooo incredably nice and procedure went by really quick. Dr. Hoffman as usual was very nice and comical, he made it really easy for me to relax. The only thing I remember was Dr H. saying to swallow something and that was it. I even had nice music to listen to (WJYE I think?) Anyways..my throat is only very mildly sore. Oh and Vicki, he did'nt take any fluid out the either. However, I did gain 1lb so I think he's going to give me a tiny fill when I go back next month.

Well I'm on my way to the EGD done :thumbup: I'll let everyone know how it goes. Wish me well

Vicki..Congrats for making it into Onderland! You have to be careful with the low-fat and fat-free ice-creams cause they'll make you think you can eat more of it and before you know it, you'll be eating the whole thing! Those calories will sneak up on ya! Try those Vootrans cookies.. those are lower in calories 90 cal each and nice size ones. There's no way to get around litening up cake lol...the only you can do is use the weightwatchers smartones for Desserts since its portion controlled. The pouch test is basically 2 days full liquids, 1 day soft Protein, 1 firm protein, 1 day solid protein. It does help. Here is the link: Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test

I know..Right ! LOL But seriously, if I did'nt have the heartburn, i'd be ok. Everything else with the band is perfectly fine. What i'm doing now is keeping a Heartburn diary to see if it's what i'm eating thats causing it..or if the band is still too tight (which I doubt).

Hi Twins, It's probably air releasing from your body from the surgery. when we have the surgery they fill the abdomen with air so they can see what they're doing. some people have air stuck around the shoulder area which causes pain (happened to me)..get yourself some gas-x strips to help release the air...it does help.

I asked for the scope as I've been having the heartburn for awhile and I wanted to make sure everything is ok with the lining of my throat and pouch.. he also said I *might* have an ulcer. I'm not sure if we have to be deflated. I hope not. :tongue:

I had terrible heartburn too lastnight. But I know why.. Had 3 medium buffalo wings and 3 drinks ...but I think it was more the wings that gave me the heartburn. I'm going to have a scope too on the 13th. < --If I don't chicken out!lol

You should be ok since they gave you surg date...as long as you have'nt gained like 10lbs since then... do you know if you've gained any since your final weigh-in?

Today I had: B: 1 scrambled egg w half a yellow cheese slice 2 oz ham, 2 tsbn grape jam and 1 roll L: breakfast bar D: 1/2 beef soup with mixed veggies cooked in and 1 dinner roll. (30 min later: 1/2 glass orange juice for my pills) S: 1/4 c turkey dressing and 1 slice of cranberry

I had my regular Dr's appt on Monday and got my flu shot... would'nt you know, I would be the one who would get sick from it :tongue2:. I think the shot gave me the flu <groan> I threw up yesterday and I still have two more parties and a couple of dinners to go to. gonna have to make it through it somehow. How is everyone else's holidays going?
