  5. No we don't have small children. Our only son is 27 so that helps. Im still going through the pros and cons of the two times so i haven't made a decision on which i will take. I have worked myself up to counting on the surgery being the week before labor day and the more and more i look at my work schedule maybe waiting until the 22nd would be better. I manage a national estuary and the two weeks after the 1st i have two key employees out on vacation and i will need to cover. It doesn't give much wiggle room if i have issues or not ready to be back yet. ..... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. I got the call today that everything has been approved and surgery is tentatively schedule for 9/1. I'm so excited!!! I wanted my surgery this week so I could have an extra day off before going back to work with the long holiday weekend. When I tell my husband, who has been very supportive, he is upset that it is on his long holiday weekend. And wants me to schedule it out another 3 weeks!!! Ugghh! I have been waiting so long now I don't want to put it off any more... Feeling kind of let down....not sure what I'm going to do. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

This morning i went in to doc office to officially weigh in and made goal plus some. Total lost since 25th is 17.5 lbs!!!! They are writing up the chart notes and will submit to insurance for final approval and surgery date! yippee!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. I guess i am not your typical woman. I cant wait to be able to buy rain gear that actually fits me. I manage a national estuary and am outdoors in all kind of weather year around. I have a rain jacket that is so tight around my butt and gut it is uncomfortable. I also can never find rain pants that fit so normally i go without and end up freezing to death. Im short 5'1 and have to buy mens sizes and then they end up a foot too long. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. I have chosen to keep it to myself other than husband, son, sisters and four very close friends. I am sure once the weight starts coming off the questions will start to come. I have received such negativity and judgement from being over weight I really don't want any more. When the time comes it will tell those who are supportive of me. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  18. I wonder if there was an additive in the jerky?? I have had migraines all of my life but can control it with leaving certain things out of my diet. Anything with msg will trigger.... Maybe cut the jerky out and see if it helps. I was also very worried about the headaches but i have been on a full liquid diet for 7 days and none so far. I have in he evenings had a half cup of refried Beans with some melted cheese or cottage cheese for a filler. 20. Make sure you do fmla. It will protect your job if something goes wrong and you need to be off work for a longer period of time. Minimum days off is 3 for the medical reason to qualify. The doc will need to fill out paperwork
  21. I got my preliminary approval today!!! The only thing I have to do now is lose 14 lbs.(5% of current weight) once that is done they will schedule surgery. Monday I have my nutritionist, psychological appt and meet with surgeon. I will get my meal plan for the weight loss then. They have already told me it will be a long liquid diet. Any tips on the liquid diet would be great. I've already started t accumulate cases of premier Protein drinks???? It's starting to get real!!!!
  22. Thank you for all the comments. I have my questions in my notebook for my consultation. All of this helped!!! I think it is just starting to get real. My surgery should be end of August to first of September. Thanks again for all the encouragement!! I have learned a lot from these boards and will continue to stick around
  23. Been going through this for a few months and my consultation is July 25. This weekend was my husbands 30th class reunion. There was an area with pics of those classmates that are gone. One of them passed due to complications from WLS. Another classmate stated that she has known too many people who have also passed away due to complications and of WLS. Made me start second guessing again????????????. How many of you went through this period and is it normal!! I know I need the surgery and really ready for it but are the risks worth it ???
  24. I figured out the insurance issue. They denied my consultation because my sleep apnea hasn't been officially diagnosed. I spoke with my insurance rep today and she said once my official diagnosis comes in she will resubmit and it should be approved in two days. I had to reschedule my consultation to July 25th. I have one more sleep study to do since my last one I only slept a total of 2 hours. ???? My doctor rep told me to not lose any weight until my consultation because the clock doesn't start ticking until that official first weighin. So now I'm at a standstill for another month. My insurance requires a 5% weight loss after the consultation before they will set a surgery date. My question is what can I do now to prep myself for surgery and beyond but not lose weight?? It is against everything in me to try not to lose weight. I'm already off soda pop ( have been for 10 years). I limit sugar to once or twice a week. I've been tempted to start Protein drinks but not sure due to the weigh in issue. Any ideas and/ or helpful hints ????
  25. thank you for your help. I spoke with the insurance contact at my doctors office and they denied because the sleep apnea diagnosis wasn't in yet. She will submit again once the paperwork on apnea comes in. She did say that my insurance is one of the easiest to get approval for gastric sleeve. that was nice to hear because I dont think I'm up for a fight
