  1. @marfar7 I'm going to say manager of a business!
  2. Close...I'm a police dispatcher. Darn! I was really hoping you were catwoman
  3. Thank you ladies! This is all very helpful and shows me everyone is different regardless of the surgery choice! I got my band checked out on Wednesday and got a fill under fluoro so I should be in the green now. Now it's all up to me to be good and get back into the swing of things! Thanks again!
  4. I guess I just need to be more diligent about adding protein supplements of some kind into my diet. I got my goal yesterday but I also had 2 protein shakes (I was on liquids from a fill on Wednesday). Thankfully, my fitness pal tracks protein now so that should be helpful for me
  5. I've done a ton of baby/pregnancy research and would be shocked if your loss was weight related. All types of women, unfortunately, have had unexplained losses! Try not to blame yourself! Of course losing weight is always the better option but I was 197 when I got pregnant, gained 60 lbs, and had a perfectly healthy and normal pregnancy and birth! (And a band baby at that!)
  6. How many grams do you usually get in a day?
  7. Ha! I wish! Office manager at a nonprofit...have also done office work at medical offices. Oh and I did Apple Tech Support when I was in college! (Close to programmer right? lol)
  8. Oh, baby fever is NO JOKE! Mine is more pregnancy fever though...I miss being pregnant but having a 12 month old reminds me I can wait a little longer before jumping into this again, lol.
  9. Detective!
  10. Case worker (or retired based on the festive shirt of your man, lol)
  11. I think (in retrospect, not at the time) that bandster hell is the time when you start to learn self control. Rules and healing say eat 1/2-1 cup of a food per meal, few snacks etc even though technically you could but at great risk and whatnot to you. You might be starving, but you are learning self-control at the same time!
  12. What is your secret? Tell me what you eat in a day to get in all your recommended protein! I need to get some new ideas on getting in all this freaking protein! Please share your meal plans!
  13. Yes, I never felt full at all. I felt like I could continually eat! I never tried to push the boundaries but never felt like I did before. I had my fill today and everything is good to go though! I'm recommitting and following the rules to a T! I have been a slacking bandster without feeling restriction and that has to stop! (Literally and figuratively now)
  14. I ate what I wanted! It was a terrible idea as I lost control and am still trying to get it back! I just got a fill under fluoroscopy though and I'm finally ready and able to get back in line with my band! It's really all about self control which I had when I got pregnant but really let it all go when I got a partial unfill...won't make that mistake again!
  15. When you say 'sit well' do you mean it makes you nauseous or hurts your stomach? Do you get stuck? (Not sure if its called that for the sleeve). Thanks!
  16. I just posted something like this on the lap band boards! I have been really into body positivity lately and kind of struggle with feeling like a hypocrite. How do you be happy being fat or Celebrate it even when you don't really WANT to be fat anymore? It's hard to find a balance I think.
  17. Ok, I'm not talking about actual RESTRICTION like with the band...I'm not talking about foods you cannot physically eat, issues you have with certain foods, and what happens when you eat those things or too fast/too big/not enough etc. I have a friend who had the sleeve and she said she has to snack on small things all the time or she will get nauseous and I'm not sure if that's a sleeve thing or something to do with her other health problems. So, tell me what your issues are! FYI - I have lap band currently but I am getting checked for issues with it tomorrow and if it needs to come out I'm considering the sleeve! TIA!
  18. Just now seeing this! I did not see that article but I have heard of mindful eating from my counselor. It's really hard to do and takes a lot of concentration for me to eat mindfully! Good article! Thanks!
  19. After my pregnancy, I have a serious carb/sugar craving ALL THE TIME. i had all but kicked it beforehand, but I let myself indulge as much as I wanted during pregnancy and now I'm paying the price Sugar and carb addiction is no joke!
  20. I'm pear-shaped and after having my first baby...I'm WHOA more pear-shaped (a full pants size up)! Best to wait!
  21. As you lose weight you will lose fat around your stomach and your band...That could be the change
  22. I've always taken ibuprofen.... I've had no issues.
  23. I agree! You should get checked out. I'm getting a fill under fluoro for the first time next month because I keep getting fills and feel no change but I get stuck all the time! Looks like our babies may have kicked our bands a little too much!
  24. Congrats on your baby! It has been really hard for me to focus on myself and my health right now since having Xander a year ago but I am slowly getting back into. Right now, most of my weight loss is due to not having time to eat as much as normal! Whatever works, right?
