  1. I just sneezed the worst sneeze I have ever done, and I cried from the pain it caused!!! I felt like my incision opened up, and I even removed my binder to make sure it didn't. I am now terrified to sneeze again, and I guess I'll just try everything I can not to do it again. I even had a pillow against my tummy for support, and I still felt like I was dying. Wtf. 2. -Having a healthy pregnancy next time -Wearing knee high boots not in wide calf size. -Not looking having my head look too small for my body in pics. -Fitting on Roller Coasters and Airplanes -No more double chin -Actually playing with my son without getting winded after 5 mins -Fitting in size wise with the rest of my family. (I am the only big one) -Not needing a Men's size XL shirt for work. -Wearing a plain cotton tee without an undershirt for once. -Just being happier and healthier overall. 3. So my husband ordered me some Isopure UNFLAVORED Protein which came last night, and have since added it to my Water with Crystal light, as well as my chocolate almond milk, and I must say I have been feeling so much better. My surgeon didn't require protein during the liquids only phase either, but once I added the protein, I have felt 100x better this morning. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  4. Omg sooo weird!!! I totally feel like this too and I was sleeved on the July 13th too!!! So tomorrow I'll be a week post op. Today I totally was wishing I could just have some cottage cheese and scrambled egg. I can't wait until next week when I'll be able to have soft food! I think maybe it's mostly head hunger since we are still getting used to not chewing and eating everything, so we crave it. I also am not sure if it's actual hunger for me, or just gas. Lol. But it feels like hunger! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  5. Where can I get one? Never heard of an abdominal binder Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App https://www.amazon.com/Medline-4-Panel-Abdominal-Binder-2X-Large/dp/B009GPZD5W Here is the one I bought. It has helped me so much, especially when I get in and out of bed, or cough. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  6. I woke up in a lot of pain from anesthesia gas in my chest. They had me laying almost flat, I didn't have an oxygen mask, breathing tube, drain, or catheter. Just an IV. I just remember moaning and cussing each time the nurse would look at me and walk by instead of giving me pain meds. Finally I moaned "F**************CK" loud enough for her to come over and ask what ny pain level was. "Um, it's at like 9 bimbo, thats why I'm moaning!!!!!!!!" Is what I wanted to say. Haha. 7. No, my gas pain is gone finally, but it's still around my large incision. Like I feel like I can't stand up straight or else it pulls. I was planning on going to the VV one today, but my husband suggested I stay home and try to take it easy. So I will definitely be at the next one though. I sneezed today, and I swear it felt like my large incision tore open. I know it didn't, but I stayed home just to be careful. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  8. Ya... phentermine made me drop hellllla weight super fast, and I only was able to keep it off for about 1 month. Lol. I couldn't afford the pills anymore and within like 1 month I had gained all of it back. So I don't mean to sound like a debbie downer, but even though you are losing weight quickly now, there is are big chance you will gain some of it back before the end of your 6 months. Which may be a good thing, to show that you have tried everything. P.s. I really hope this response didn't sound like I'm doubting you or anything. Its just hard to put into words. I wish you all the luck in getting approved!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  9. Did you go to the Vacaville one? Or the Richmond one? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  10. My soft foods doesn't start until 2 weeks post op, but when it does, Tuna is totally at the top of my menu! Only 8 more days! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  11. You are soo lucky!!! I wish I didn't have any pain. Just don't overdo it. Wishing you the best! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  12. I have the Centrum adult chewables, and the chewable Iron from Celebrate. Those are what my NUT recommended. They are just too sweet for me. I also don't like the Caramel Calcium Citrate Chews for the same reason. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App EDIT!! IRON IS FROM Celebrate Vitamins, NOT Bariatric Advantage
  13. I was going to go to the Vacaville Support Group today, but I am still in too much pain to drive, so I'll be going to the next one instead. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  14. Ehhh the pills are horrible. They aren't too big though, so I just make sure to wet my tongue first, then place 1 pill as close to the back of my throat as I can, and then sip just enough to get it down. I only do 1 at a time or else they get stuck. My friggin Vitamins are the worst though. They are so gross. And big and chalky and way too sweet. So gross. I am able to drink a bit more now, so I'm not dehydrated anymore. I've been drinking Miso Soup which has helped so much with my Sore throat. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  15. My anesthesiologist told me that my throat would be sore from the breathing tube. And boy was she right. It was so sore and dry and painful. They didn't tell me they put a camera down my throat, and they explained things very well to me before and after surgery. So my Sore throat I just feeling better today (4th day post op). My body was making extra phlegm to coat my throat, which drove me crazy, since I had to hawk a bunch of louggies, and cough a lot which hurt my incisions. I was still under anesthesia when they did the leak test, so I don't even remember it. The most pain I had after surgery was from the gas from the anesthesia. So seriously, no matter how shitty you feel after, take all the pain meds and nausea meds they will give you and MAKE SURE YOU WALK!! I walked about 5-10 laps every single hour, and it did help with the gas pains. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  16. I only have the 2oz cups. They gave me 1oz cups in the hospital. Honestly, the warm decaf herbal tea they offered me helped the most with my extremely sore throat after surgery. And then room temp water was good too. I only take a small sip of the 1 or 2oz cup, just enough to wet my tongue and allow a tiny bit to roll down the back of my throat. Now that I'm 4 days post-op, I just carry a plastic water bottle with me and take small sips from that. But I can tolerate the cold water now too. I have trouble figuring out exactly how much water I need to swallow my pain meds and protonix. Thats really the only time I feel uncomfortable. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  17. P.s. OMFG MISO SOUP!!! My grandma is Japanese, and she made me some of the best Miso broth everrrrr! I swear it has magic powers in it because my pain goes away for a few mins when I eat it. She strains the tofu, onions, seaweed, and chives out of it before she gives It to me since I'm still on liquids only. In a week and a half I can have the tofu though and I can't wait!!! 18. My cousin is still a bit shocked when I tell her how much I weighed at my highest and even on the day of surgery. She always says "No way, you must by lying, I never saw you as being THAT big!". She is just trying to make me feel better, and I'm not mad at her, I guess some people just don't see the people they love as big as we really are/were. Shes very supportive of my VSG and she even drove me to the hospital last week for my surgery. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  19. Thanks, ya, there isn't any discharge or redness. No pain on the actual incision, just almost bruise like pain around it. I'll wait until tomorrow morning to call the hospital, since it's not making me bedridden or anything. Just super bothersome. Thanks for all the responses! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  20. I'm 6 days post op now and I'm experiencing the same thing with my largest incision and the one I had my drainage tube in, not sure it's normal or not I just assumed those were where the most trauma took place Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App See, I never had any drainage tubes... is that normal? I mean like I said, the actual incisions all look really good, there's just the severe pain around the largest one. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  21. I was sleeved last Wednesday 7/13/16. All of my incisions are doing well, except the largest one. The actual cut looks fine, but all around it is still SO painful. Like a tennis ball sized area surrounding it. It hurts to stand up straight, to sit or lay down, when I walk too much, and ESPECIALLY when I cough or hiccup (even with a stomach binder and pillow pressed on it). My surgeon's office is closed on weekends, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to ask about it, but I was just curious if anyone still had this much pain around the big incision 4 days out? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  22. My husband absolutely loves the broth from Ramen. I haven't been able to tolerate the sodium in it for years. Its sooo yummy, and I can eat it, but I always feel sick after, which is a bummer. My son and husband can suck it down with no problems! So I guess I'm too scared to try it post-op. I just made bone broth from leftover rotisserie chicken and veggie bits 'nd pieces. So that will have to do for now! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  23. glad to hear you are doing well. Today I had 8oz Protein shake, two sugar free Popsicles, 1/4 cup broth and lots of Water. Are you able to eat that much? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Um, not really. I have about 2-3oz of broth, Soup, or applesauce, at meal times, and then sipping water all day. I go through a 16oz bottle of water all day. But I can't have more than 3oz of anything at a time or I feel sick. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  24. My gas stayed in my chest and was horrible. I was also sleeved on the 13th. And my tummy rumblings so far have been gas for me, not hunger. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  25. Sleeved 7/13/16 Blechhhhhhhhh. I feel sore still, I thought I would have an easier time in the hospital, but I didn't, the anesthesia gas was ridiculous!!! All I could was burp and walk. I was finally able to pass gas early this morning, so that helped me relieve some of the pressure. I absolutely hate taking my Vitamins with a passion. They are so chalky and sweet and gross. My largest incision is very tender, so I can only sleep on my back. Plus I am super itchy under my breasts and tummy. Like there's a rash there, and I'm assuming it's from the tape they must have used to keep things out of the way during surgery. I am on modified liquids now, and I have made chicken bone broth and mixed it with a bit of organic smooth broccoli Soup and it was super good and filling!! Hopefully it will help me "go" too. I am still needing my pain meds every 4-6 hrs, especially before bed. Sorry this post was all over the place. Lol. But thats kinda how I feel right now.
